A Complete Bay, Your Way
Custom-Fit Sizes
Six stock sizes from a compact 8 ft bay up to a wide 10 ft-plus setup — or build down to the inch to fit an awkward wall, soffit, or ceiling.
True Floor-to-Screen Image
A borderless bottom cable design pulls the image all the way to the floor with minimal bounce-back, so putts and low shots read cleanly.
Black Nylon Enclosure
Black-out nylon panels catch errant shots and cut ambient light, boosting projector contrast for a sharper, more immersive picture.
Four Screen Materials
Match your budget and image quality — from the durable Standard poly-knit to the triple-layer Premium and High-Contrast Gray for ambient-light rooms.
Steel Corner Fittings
Steel corner and support fittings plus ball bungees and zip ties are included, with extras in the box so a dropped part never stops your build.
DIY-Friendly Assembly
Build the frame, attach the enclosure, tension the screen, and tee off — a detailed guide with an EMT pipe cut list gets you playing in under an afternoon.
Space You Will Need
Measure before you buy. These are the manufacturer's clearances for a safe, well-tensioned bay — plan your room around them and the build goes smoothly.
Who the DIY Enclosure Is Built For
The First-Time Builder
You want a real enclosure without a contractor. Follow the guide, cut your EMT to the list, and you have a finished bay in an afternoon.
The Garage or Basement Convert
You are turning existing space into a sim room and need a size that fits your walls and ceiling — including custom-to-the-inch dimensions.
The Value-Focused Golfer
You want tour-quality screen options at a fraction of a built-in room, and you are happy to supply the frame pipe to save the most.
The Upgrader
You are stepping up from a hitting net to a full projected image, and you want a screen you can match to your projector and lighting.
Carl's Place impact screens are built to take real golf balls at full driver speed. Take full swings without worrying about the screen. The black nylon enclosure catches anything the screen does not, keeping your room and gear protected.

From Box to First Swing
1. Measure Your Space
Confirm you have 10–12 ft of hitting distance, 2–3 in. of buffer around the frame, and 12–16 in. of clearance behind the screen.
2. Build the Frame
Cut 1-inch EMT to the included list — or drop in the pre-cut Pipe Framing Kit — sized 4 in. taller and wider than the screen.
3. Hang the Enclosure
Attach the black nylon enclosure panels to the frame with the included steel corner fittings and fasteners.
4. Tension the Screen
Hang the impact screen and pull it taut with the 6 in. ball bungees for an even, flat surface and a clean image.
5. Aim the Projector
Center your projector on the screen and dial in the image. Darker rooms — or the High-Contrast Gray screen — give the deepest blacks.
6. Let It Settle
Give the screen a couple of days under tension to relax any wrinkles, keep new balls clean, and you are set for thousands of swings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Each kit includes your chosen impact screen, black nylon enclosure panels, steel corner and support fittings, and ball bungees and zip ties with extras. You also get a detailed assembly guide with an EMT pipe cut list. The 1-inch EMT frame pipe is supplied by you or added as an optional Pipe Framing Kit.
Plan for 10–12 ft of hitting distance from the screen, 2–3 in. of buffer on each side and the top of the enclosure, and 12–16 in. of free clearance behind the screen so the material can stretch. Build the frame 4 in. taller and wider than the screen for even tension with the 6 in. ball bungees.
Standard is a durable, budget-friendly poly-knit starter. Preferred adds a smoother surface and silicone reinforcement for sharper visuals. Premium is a triple-layer, noise-dampening screen for the sharpest image and quietest impact. High-Contrast Gray uses the same tri-layer build with deeper blacks, ideal for rooms with ambient light.
The frame is built from 1-inch steel EMT, which you can buy locally to save money using the included cut list, or add the pre-cut Pipe Framing Kit for a no-measuring, no-cutting build. The kit includes the steel fittings and fasteners either way.
EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing, also called Electrical Metal Conduit, and it forms the frame for your enclosure and screen. Do not use PVC — it will not work with the included fittings. Note that 1-inch EMT is the US trade name; the true outer diameter is 1.163 in. or 27mm.
For the safety of both the golfer and the screen, the manufacturer recommends standing a minimum of 10–12 ft from the screen. This distance also helps prevent premature wear on the material.
The manufacturer does not recommend ironing the screen, as it is easy to damage. Mounting the screen under tension and letting it relax for a couple of days smooths out most wrinkles. A clean, consumer-grade steamer with distilled water can speed up the process without leaving water marks.
Use new golf balls free of scuffs, grass stains, or marker, and keep your clubs clean. Protect the edges and grommets from direct strikes. Impact screens are wearable products and may show wear early with heavy use, but they are built to withstand many thousands of strikes over their life.
The DIY (C-Series) is a budget-friendly enclosure with a simpler, build-it-yourself frame — ideal for a first setup. The Carl's Place Pro Enclosure uses a more rigid frame with higher screen tension for a flatter surface and a more finished, premium look. Choose Pro for the best image and appearance; choose DIY for the best value.
