What Size Golf Simulator Enclosure Fits Your Room?
Measure width, ceiling height and depth, then leave buffer space around the frame. The size in a kit's name is a nominal listing size, so check the frame dimensions.
Width
A 10 ft room works with the tee to one side. At 14 ft the tee sits in the middle for right- and left-handed golfers.
Tee distance
Never closer than 10 ft, or the ball bounces back. The whole room runs longer: 16 ft 9 in deep for a DIY Enclosure.
Buffer
Curved: Carl's Place suggests 6 to 7 in above. Behind the frame: 8.25 in for the DIY, 9.5 in for Pro and Curved.

Which Screen Material Should the Enclosure Have?
White for a room you can darken, gray for a room you cannot. Carl's Place makes four screen materials, and the enclosure you pick decides which ones you can order.

- Gray needs a brighter projector: at least 4,000 lumens in a room with any meaningful light, and 5,000 or more in a bright room.
- The screen is replaceable: when it wears, order a new one in the same size and edge finish as the original.

Carl's Place recommends at least 14 feet wide, 18 feet deep and a 9 to 10 foot ceiling, and many rooms work smaller.
The smallest DIY Enclosure fits a room 8 ft 10 in wide, 8 ft 7 in high and 16 ft 9 in deep. Check yours in the simulator builder.
The DIY Enclosure uses a 1 inch EMT frame, comes in six sizes at one 5 ft depth and offers four screen materials.
The Pro uses a 2 inch EMT frame that holds a projector or overhead launch monitor, comes in 18 sizes up to 15 ft deep, and includes foam inserts.
The Net Return's floating screen minimizes bounce-back, so the bay can be used in tighter, smaller spaces.
Its frame is 3 ft 6 in deep, and the 8 ft bay needs a room at least 14 ft deep, against 16 ft 9 in for a DIY Enclosure. The DIY Enclosure costs less and offers six sizes and four screen materials.
A net stops the ball and shows no picture. A bare impact screen shows the picture and needs a way to hang and tension it, plus side protection you add.

Carl's Place puts the DIY Enclosure at about an hour, the Pro at about two hours and the Curved at about four hours with a couple of helpers.
The Net Return Floating Screen bay sets up with no tools. The Built-In kit is construction-level work with lag screws and a laser level.

With a DIY Enclosure, electronics sit on the floor or mount to the ceiling.
Carl's Place recommends standing 10 to 12 feet from the screen and never closer than 10 feet. Standing closer brings bounce-back and raises the risk of injury.
