Golf Room Floor Tiles

Carl's Place Golf Room Floor Tiles are 1.25" interlocking foam subfloor tiles that give your golf room a cushioned, stable base and a flush, polished finish under your turf.

These 1.25" thick foam tiles press together with puzzle-tab interlocks -- no tools required -- to create a cushioned, stable standing surface that does not slide mid-swing and helps catch the ball after impact. Lay turf right over the top, then set your hitting mat or strip flush into the floor with no lip, no trip hazard, and a clean, built-in look.

Who They're For

Is This the Right Floor for You?

Full Turf Floor Builds

Turning the whole room into a turf floor? These tiles put a cushioned, stable subfloor under every square foot, so the entire space feels comfortable and finished.

Concrete Basements and Garages

Bare concrete is hard on a practice session. A 1.25" foam layer between your shoes and the slab makes standing and swinging far more comfortable.

Flush Hitting-Mat Setups

Want your mat level with the surrounding turf instead of sitting on top with a lip? Setting the mat flush into this subfloor is exactly what it is built for.

Phased Builds

Starting with just the hitting area? The interlocking design lets you begin with a smaller footprint and add tiles, edges, and corners as your build grows.

1.25" Of Foam Between You and the Slab

Thick enough to take the edge off concrete, thin enough to set a hitting mat flush into the surrounding turf.

Setup Guide

Planning and Laying Your Floor

Six steps from tape measure to finished subfloor.

1. Measure Your Space

Measure the width (left to right) and depth (front to back) of the area you want to cover, in inches.

2. Count Your Tiles

Each tile covers about 40.25" x 40.25" once the interlocking tabs are engaged. Divide your width and depth by that, then round up.

3. Tally the Edges

Width edges run the front and back, depth edges the left and right. Both come in packs of 6, so round each count up to the next pack.

4. Add the Corners

Corner pieces come in packs of 4 and most builds need exactly one pack. T- or L-shaped rooms with inside corners may need extra.

5. Lock the Floor Together

Press the puzzle tabs together by hand -- no tools, no adhesive. Work out from one corner and keep your rows square.

6. Then Cut Your Turf

Assemble the tiles and edges before sizing turf, then cut the turf with a 6" overlap on all sides.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How many floor tiles do I need?

Measure your space, then divide by the tile footprint -- each tile is 40.25" x 40.25" (39.5" x 39.5" of inner flat area) at 1.25" thick. Carl's worked example: a space 199.38" wide by 238.88" deep takes 5 tiles wide by 6 tiles deep, or 30 tiles, for a finished edged area of 207.25" x 246.75". Carl's recommends ordering a little extra rather than exactly what you calculate. Need help? Call 1-888-871-6110.

Do I need the edge and corner pieces?

They are optional, and they are how you get the finished look. Width edges run along the front and back of the space, depth edges run along the left and right sides, and corner pieces close the perimeter. The tall tapered edges hold the turf in neatly, give a polished look, and remove the trip hazard at the border. Most setups need only one corner pack.

How many edge packs should I order?

Edge pieces come in packs of 6 and corners in packs of 4. In Carl's worked example -- a 5-tile by 6-tile floor -- you need 10 width edges (order 2 packs), 12 depth edges (order 2 packs), and 4 corners (1 pack). T- or L-shaped layouts with inside corners may need extra corners, which can be cut to fit.

Should I buy the 5-pack or the 6-pack of tiles?

Often both. Floor tiles come in packs of 5 ($229.95) and packs of 6 ($275.95), so combine pack sizes to reach your total tile count -- a 30-tile layout, for example, could be five 6-packs or six 5-packs. Carl's recommends ordering a little extra rather than exactly what your math calls for, so round up if you land between pack sizes.

Can I put turf over the tiles?

Yes -- laying turf over the tiles is exactly how the system is designed. Assemble your tiles and edges first, before sizing your turf, then cut the turf with a 6" overlap on all sides. The subfloor gives the turf a cushioned base underneath, and you can set a hitting mat or strip flush into it with no lip for a clean, seamless surface.

Do I need these if I already have a hitting mat?

The tiles are not a replacement for your hitting mat -- they work with it. The subfloor lets you set your existing mat or hitting strip flush into the surrounding turf with no lip, while giving the rest of the room a cushioned standing surface and helping catch the ball after impact. If your mat currently sits proud of a bare floor, this is what ties the room together.

Will the tiles slide when I swing?

No. The puzzle-tab interlock connects the tiles into one continuous surface that does not slide mid-swing, so your footing stays stable through the shot. Installation requires no tools -- the tabs simply press together by hand -- and the tapered edge pieces finish the perimeter with no trip hazard at the border.

Can I cut the pieces to fit my room?

Corner pieces can be cut to fit, which is how you handle layouts with inside corners such as T- or L-shaped rooms -- those layouts may need extra corner pieces beyond the usual single pack. Whatever your layout, Carl's recommends ordering a little extra rather than cutting your order exactly to your measurements, and note that dimensions can vary by up to 1/8".

Are these an impact screen or structural flooring?

No. The Golf Room Floor Tiles are a comfort and finish layer for your floor -- they cushion your stance, help catch the ball after impact, and give you a flush, polished surface. They are not structural, and they are not an impact screen. If you are building out the rest of the room, see our Golf Room Wall Tiles ($149.95), Golf Room Acoustic Tiles ($279.95), and Built-In Golf Room Kit.
