Planning and Laying Your Floor
Six steps from tape measure to finished subfloor.
1. Measure Your Space
Measure the width (left to right) and depth (front to back) of the area you want to cover, in inches.
2. Count Your Tiles
Each tile covers about 40.25" x 40.25" once the interlocking tabs are engaged. Divide your width and depth by that, then round up.
3. Tally the Edges
Width edges run the front and back, depth edges the left and right. Both come in packs of 6, so round each count up to the next pack.
4. Add the Corners
Corner pieces come in packs of 4 and most builds need exactly one pack. T- or L-shaped rooms with inside corners may need extra.
5. Lock the Floor Together
Press the puzzle tabs together by hand -- no tools, no adhesive. Work out from one corner and keep your rows square.
6. Then Cut Your Turf
Assemble the tiles and edges before sizing turf, then cut the turf with a 6" overlap on all sides.

Carl's worked example: a space 199.38" wide by 238.88" deep takes 5 tiles wide by 6 tiles deep, or 30 tiles, for a finished edged area of 207.25" x 246.75". In Carl's worked example -- a 5-tile by 6-tile floor -- you need 10 width edges (order 2 packs), 12 depth edges (order 2 packs), and 4 corners (1 pack). T- or L-shaped layouts with inside corners may need extra corners, which can be cut to fit.
