Space & Setup Requirements
ProTee VX mounts above the hitting area to keep your floor clear and your alignment consistent. The system reads the ball and club in the space between your hitting mat and the VX-so your setup stays clean and player-friendly.
- Minimum ceiling height: 9 ft (2.75 m); ProTee considers 10 ft (3.05 m) optimal.
- Mount geometry: at 10 ft ceiling, position the mount center 3 ft 7 in (110 cm) from the center of the hitting area; at 9 ft, use 3 ft 4 in (100 cm).
- No fixed distance to screen: ProTee VX reads the ball and club in the space between the hitting mat and the unit — it does not require a specific distance from screen to hitting area.
- Hitting zone: 25" x 21".
- Interface: Windows PC via Ethernet / USB 3.0 adapter (included).
- Simple mounting & calibration: guided setup with included calibration plate.
Setup Process at a Glance
ProTee VX installation is a one-time ceiling-mount job followed by a guided software setup. Many owners do the install themselves with a second set of hands; serious bay builds often add a pro installer.
- 1. Mount the bracket. Use the included screws and plugs to attach the black stainless steel mounting plate to the ceiling, arrow pointed toward the screen, parallel to your impact screen.
- 2. Slot in the VX. Two people: align the unit with the mount openings, lift, and slide left until the index plunger clicks into place.
- 3. Cable it up. Plug the C13 power cord into a wall outlet; run the included 10 m Cat6 Ethernet cable from the VX to your PC (use the included USB 3.0–to–Ethernet adapter on a blue USB3 port if your existing network is hardwired).
- 4. Install ProTee Labs. Download the installer from ProTee's official link, follow the wizard, then launch ProTee Labs and enter the activation code we send with your order.
- 5. Calibrate the cameras. Place the included calibration plate flat in the hitting area, use the bubble level to set it true, click Calibrate System in ProTee Labs, then define your play area. Recalibrate any time if results drift.
Activation code: ProTee Labs requires an activation code on first launch. Top Shelf Golf includes this with your VX order so you can register the software the day it arrives.
