Why Golfers Choose the SC300i

Launch Angle & Apex On-Device

Beyond carry, swing speed, ball speed, and smash factor, the SC300i adds launch angle and apex height directly on the LCD — the two metrics that turn distance numbers into real ball-flight insight.

MySwingCaddie App + Bluetooth

Pair the SC300i to your phone and the free MySwingCaddie app (iOS and Android) layers in spin rate, video overlay analysis, stats history, and per-club tracking. Use it or skip it — the SC300i works fully standalone.

5.3" Sunlight-Readable LCD

The large 5.3" backlit LCD displays every number at a glance — even in direct sunlight. Voice output also announces your distance after each shot, so you can review the full data without breaking stride.

Rechargeable Lithium-Polymer (USB-C)

No batteries to swap. The SC300i runs on a built-in lithium-polymer battery with USB-C charging — 20 minutes of charging gives you a full hour of practice, and a full charge lasts up to 20 hours.

Doppler Radar + Atmospheric Calibration

24 GHz K-band Doppler radar with calibrated atmospheric pressure sensors keeps the math honest at any altitude or humidity. Published accuracy: ±2% ball speed and ±3 yards carry distance in target mode.

Practice + Target Modes

Practice Mode records per-club averages for distance, smash factor, and apex. Target Mode gives you a yardage to chase with 10-shot challenges — measure how close you actually get under pressure.

Measured Metrics

Every Launch Monitor Number You Need to Improve

Six on-device metrics show on the SC300i's LCD after every swing. Connect Bluetooth and the MySwingCaddie app adds spin rate, video overlay, and per-club averages — turning a $400 pocket monitor into a real practice and fitting tool.

Carry Distance Yes
Total Distance Yes
Swing Speed Yes
Ball Speed Yes
Smash Factor Yes
Launch Angle Yes
Apex Height Yes
Spin Rate In App

Each shot also auto-syncs to your per-club averages — switch clubs with the included remote and the SC300i updates that club's distance, smash factor, and apex baselines without any manual logging.

Who It's For

Is the SC300i Right for You?

Serious Practice Player

You hit the range two or three times a week and want real ball-flight numbers — not just distance. Launch angle and apex on-device, plus spin in the app, give you the data to actually tune ball flight instead of just measuring carry.

App + LCD Hybrid User

You like having data on the unit's LCD for fast feedback at the range, and the option to dig into video overlay and stats history later. The SC300i covers both modes — standalone or paired to MySwingCaddie.

Backyard Net or Indoor Bay Owner

You have a hitting net or basement studio and want per-club averages over time. With at least 7 feet between ball and net, the SC300i tracks every indoor strike and stores the rolling per-club data right on the device.

Step Up From SC200 Plus

You've outgrown a basic radar speed monitor. The SC300i adds launch angle, apex height, spin rate (in app), Bluetooth, USB-C charging, and a 5.3" display — all the upgrades that make a $400 unit feel closer to a $1,500 launch monitor.

7 Ball Flight Metrics — On-Device + In App

Carry, swing speed, ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, and apex on the LCD — plus spin rate when you pair the MySwingCaddie app. The cleanest data set under $500.

Setup Guide

SC300i Setup: From Box to Range in Under 5 Minutes

Six rules for accurate readings — outdoors at the range or indoors into a hitting net.

1

Charge the Battery

Plug the SC300i into the included USB-C cable for a full charge before your first session. 20 minutes of charging gives one hour of practice; a full charge lasts up to 20 hours.

2

Position the Monitor

Place the SC300i approximately 5 feet directly behind the ball on your target line. The radar sensor should face the impact zone with no obstructions in the line of sight.

3

Level the Surface

Keep the monitor and the ball at the same height. If your hitting mat sits on a raised tee box, prop the SC300i on something matching so the radar reads a flat path.

4

Set Your Loft

Use the remote to select your club's loft angle. The SC300i uses loft to calculate carry distance and apex, so a 9° driver and a 56° wedge each get matched to the correct flight model.

5

Pair MySwingCaddie (Optional)

Open the free MySwingCaddie app on iOS or Android, enable Bluetooth, and tap to pair. The SC300i works fully standalone — pair only when you want spin rate, video overlay, or stats history.

6

Use Real Golf Balls

Foam and limited-flight balls will register, but distances and apex skew short. For accurate ball-flight data, use standard golf balls — even a budget practice sleeve gives reliable numbers.

Room and Enclosure Fit

Which Enclosure Fits the Swing Caddie SC300i?

The Swing Caddie SC300i measures the shot from behind the ball and shows the numbers on its own display. It does not run simulator software, so it pairs with a net rather than with a projected screen.

Net

The SC300i sits at a spot behind the ball, level with it, and needs clear ball flight into a net; check the specific net you pick for its own frame depth.

Floating Screen, DIY Enclosure, Pro Enclosure, Curved Screen and Built-In Screen

The SC300i does not run simulator software, so a screen would show no course and no ball flight. A projected build needs a simulator-capable launch monitor.

Moving Up to a Simulator

For a course on the screen, the comparison page lists every simulator-capable launch monitor we sell by placement and price.

Our pick: the Net. The SC300i shows its numbers on its own display, not on a screen.

Enter your own room width, depth and ceiling in the golf simulator builder, or read the golf simulator room size guide first.

Range data, app analysis, complete ball flight.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the Swing Caddie SC300i?

Voice Caddie publishes the SC300i at ±2% on ball speed, ±3 yards on carry distance in target mode, and ±3% on carry distance in practice mode. Calibrated atmospheric pressure sensors adjust for altitude and humidity. Position the unit about 5 feet directly behind the ball, on a level surface, for the cleanest readings.

What metrics does the SC300i measure?

The SC300i shows six metrics on the LCD: carry distance, swing speed, ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, and apex height. Pair the MySwingCaddie app via Bluetooth and you also get spin rate plus video overlay analysis and stats history.

What is the difference between the Swing Caddie SC200 Plus and SC300i?

The SC200 Plus ($279.99) measures carry, swing speed, ball speed, and smash factor — four metrics, no app, AAA batteries, 4" LCD. The SC300i ($399.99) adds launch angle, apex height, spin rate (in app), Bluetooth, USB-C rechargeable battery, and a larger 5.3" LCD. If you want complete ball-flight data and app-based shot analysis, choose the SC300i. If you only need distance, speed, and smash, the SC200 Plus is the better-value pick.

Does the SC300i work without the app?

Yes. The SC300i is fully standalone — every reading shows on the built-in 5.3" LCD and the unit speaks your carry distance after each shot. The MySwingCaddie app is optional and adds spin rate, video overlay, stats history, and per-club tracking, but it's not required to use the launch monitor.

How far behind the ball should I place the SC300i?

Position the SC300i approximately 5 feet directly behind the ball, on your target line, at the same height as the ball. The radar sensor should face the impact zone with no obstructions in the line of sight.

Can I use the SC300i indoors and outdoors?

Yes — both. Outdoors at the range it works without restriction. Indoors into a hitting net, allow at least 7 feet between the ball and the net so the radar has enough flight window to capture ball speed, carry, and apex accurately.

How long does the SC300i battery last?

The SC300i runs on a built-in lithium-polymer battery with USB-C charging. 20 minutes of charging gives you a full hour of practice, and a full charge lasts up to 20 hours. No AAA batteries to swap.

Does the SC300i announce my distances out loud?

Yes. Voice Distance Output announces your carry distance through the unit's built-in speaker after every shot, so you can keep your eyes downrange without walking back to check the screen.

Can multiple golfers use the same SC300i?

Yes. Each player can connect their own phone or tablet to the SC300i via Bluetooth using the MySwingCaddie app, saving individual shot history, club averages, and video reviews on their own device.

What's in the box with the SC300i?

Every SC300i ships with the launch monitor, the included remote control, USB-C charging cable, and a quick-start guide. Top Shelf Golf adds a free SC200/SC300 carrying pouch with purchase while supplies last.

Where can I find the SC300i user manual?

The full SC300i user manual is available here: Swing Caddie SC300i User Manual (PDF) ›

Why does the SC300i sometimes miss a shot?
Start with setup. Place the SC300i about 5 feet behind the ball, on the same level as the ball. Even 1 inch of height difference can matter. If shots are not detected, move the unit slightly further back from the ball. Use a real golf ball and make sure the unit is in the correct mode. If it still does not detect swings, perform a factory reset on the unit.
How do I pair the SC300i with the app, and where is my shot history?
Open the MySwingCaddie app, tap the Bluetooth icon, and choose SC300i. The Bluetooth icon on the SC300i screen shows the connection is on. Your stats live in the app, with shot analysis by club and by date range, plus statistics for Practice and Target modes. To add or change clubs, go to the app menu and open My Bag.
How do I switch between carry and total distance on the SC300i?
In Practice Mode, press and hold the + / Distance button to switch between carry and total distance. You can also set Carry/Total from the remote. Total distance is carry plus run. If a distance looks off, check whether the unit is in carry or total mode.
Can I finance the SC300i with Affirm?

Yes. Affirm financing is available at checkout — split your purchase into monthly payments, subject to eligibility. Click the Affirm option at checkout to see your rate without affecting your credit score.

Which enclosure fits the Swing Caddie SC300i?

The Net. The SC300i sits at a spot behind the ball, level with it, and needs clear ball flight into a net. It does not run simulator software, so a Floating Screen, DIY Enclosure, Pro Enclosure, Curved Screen or Built-In Screen would show no course and no ball flight.

How much room depth does the Swing Caddie SC300i need?

The SC300i sits at a spot behind the ball, level with it, and needs clear ball flight into a net; check the specific net you pick for its own frame depth.

Does the Swing Caddie SC300i work with a curved screen?

No. The SC300i does not run simulator software, so a curved screen would show no course and no ball flight. A curved bay needs a simulator-capable launch monitor.

What is the warranty and return policy on the SC300i?

As an authorized Voice Caddie dealer, every SC300i from Top Shelf Golf includes the full 1-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in materials and workmanship.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of receiving your order, provided the merchandise is in its original condition. Please inspect your package when it arrives and contact us within 24 hours if there is any shipping damage. For full details, see our Return Policy.

Customer video review of Swing Caddie SC4 PRO Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Fast delivery and brand new in the box. I have used it multiple times since the purchase and it works great. I could not be happier with my launch monitor choice or the store I used. Great overall experience.

Swing Caddie SC4 PRO Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Fast delivery and new in box with that new car smell. I was not sure if this was a legit website with the deals they have, but im glad I took the leap. Started using my SC4 the day it arrived for hitting on the range. Can’t wait to hit it on the simulator. Thank you for saving me $100 that I can spend elsewhere.

Swing Caddie SC4 PRO Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

This is an excellent little launch monitor, especially for the price. The device does exactly what the golfer needs it to do. I'm confident of the construction of the monitor; it's not cheap, flimsy construction that will break when tossed into a box in the back of the truck. We verified the information this generated at a range session by using a rangefinder for both distance and speed, and the device is very accurate - especially for the price. I recommend this launch monitor.

Swing Caddie SC100 Golf Launch Monitor

This swing caddy launch monitor is just the golf item I needed to help improve my golf game. The data that unit provides helps me to understand some simple changes I need to make in my golf swing to obtain the maximum clubhead speed I need for better golf performance.

Swing Caddie SC300i Golf Launch Monitor

Customer video review of Swing Caddie SC100 Golf Launch Monitor

Great launch monitor to dial in your distances, would recommend to any golfer! Keep in mind that the SC100 tracks swing speed and not ball speed.

Swing Caddie SC100 Golf Launch Monitor

It is perfect for getting your true carry distance. No more guessing. It is perfect for storing it in the golf bag for the driving range. Very compact and easy to use!

Swing Caddie SC100 Golf Launch Monitor

Works as expected - which is nice! Accuracy is close so it is a good piece of equipment, for a reasonable price, for the golfer who wants to get more / better info on distances for each club. Also helps promote discipline - and thus better training - in range sessions.

Swing Caddie SC100 Golf Launch Monitor

Customer video review of Swing Caddie SC200 Plus Golf Launch Monitor

I was always wondering about the benefits of these devices. Price against usage and worth the money. I have a good friend that owns a driving range and is an ex-Pro golfer. He advised me that the Swing Caddie S200, one he owns, is great. I should get 1 he advised. So, I did, I bought the S200+ because of the remote that comes with it. Makes things and adjustments much easier. I am recovering from a knee replacement surgery. The reason for the limp in my video. But I had to try it out and I absolutely love my Swing Caddie. No matter your skill level, I recommend it to help you out and take away any guess work you may have.

Swing Caddie SC200 Plus Golf Launch Monitor

This is my 2nd launch monitor from voice caddie. The first one was the SC 300i and that was great. Now I have the SC4 pro and all I can say is wow. Many steps above the 300i. I have used it every day since I bought it (Sept 30th) Thank you for making such a great product. I have more data to me improve my game. thank you so much. Keep the great products coming..

Swing Caddie SC4 PRO Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Since using the product, I went from hitting nine greens and regulation to averaging 14 a round. I was really able to dial in my distances, especially with my irons.

Swing Caddie SC100 Golf Launch Monitor

The SC100 is a great value for the $150 I paid for it. At first, I questioned the accuracy, not only of the swing speed but of the carry distance as well. Once, I put the information I obtained from the SC100 to use on the golf course, however, I became a believer. At 73 years old, I am indeed swinging much slower and the SC100 has helped me choose the RIGHT club for each shot, rather than the "wishful thinking" clubs I was using.

Swing Caddie SC100 Golf Launch Monitor

I really like using the Swing Caddie Protable Launch monitor. The instant feed back helps me understand the results of each swing I make. Great tool for nerds like me.

Customer photo review of Swing Caddie SC4 PRO Premium Golf Simulator Package

We wanted something portable, but high quality. The swingcaddie package was perfect. The Net Return system was easy to setup and it's durable. The golf mat has good padding and should last a long time. The mat doesn't rubb off onto the clubs like other mats I've used. The E6 connect software is easy to use and has excellent graphics. I like the fact the projector and Net Return screen can be used as an outdoor TV as well. Excellent product!
