Answers Before You Build
The Built-In Kit mounts to a squared-off, finished room. The screen spans the full wall.
Room requirements
- The width slider takes any wall from 8' to 20' wide, in whole inches.
- Keep at least 12" of free and clear space behind the screen.
- Allow around 6" in front of the screen for the flaps and starter panels.
- Set your tee at least 10' back from the screen.
- For a centered tee, a room at least 14' wide is recommended.
Measure wall to wall and set the slider to that number. The screen is sewn to it, and the price updates as you move it.
Your exact wall dimensions are confirmed with you before the screen is made, so the kit arrives fitting your room the first time.
Measure floor to ceiling and set the height slider to it. The builder takes any height from 8' to 10' 9", in whole inches, and prices the kit live from the real height you set.
Built-In screens are sewn with a section of black impact material across the top, called masking. It keeps the white viewable area at a clean aspect ratio even though most rooms don't perfectly match one. Built-In masking is adjustable from 4" to 12" and is safe for impact.

All four materials are built to take real golf ball impacts. The difference is image quality, impact noise, and durability.
- Standard: the budget-friendly pick, perfect for first-time builds.
- Preferred: best value for home and light commercial use; smoother, tightly woven fibers for a better HD picture.
- Premium: three layers of heavy-duty, tight-knit impact-resistant polyester. Quiets ball impact and delivers the best image quality.
- High-Contrast Gray: premium-grade, impact-resistant material in a darker gray that deepens color and contrast; the best pick for rooms with more ambient light.
Protect and finish a side wall of your golf room. Choose one option per side, or leave it open.
- Padded Panels: the finished, commercial-bay look. Thick foam panels protect the wall from shanks and ricochets and quiet the room. Set how far back from the screen to cover, any depth from 3 ft to 30 ft in 3 ft steps (most rooms do the first 6 ft, where nearly all mishits land); we calculate the panel count from your room height, and starter trim plus French-cleat hardware are included.
- Retractable Curtain: a lighter, lower-cost option that pulls across the side wall to block light and catch errant shots, then slides back when you are done. Sized to your room height and sold in depth steps (4, 8, or 12 ft deep). The ceiling-mount hanging hardware is added with the curtain and priced into your total, and you can turn it off if you already have a track. One limit to know: 12 ft deep fabric curtains are stocked for rooms up to 9 ft 6 in tall, and 12 ft net curtains up to 10 ft. Above that, the builder offers the 4 and 8 ft depths and flags a depth that is not stocked at your height.
Room Details & Coverage
Lead time notice: for orders placed August 27, 2026 or later, Carl's Place production time is temporarily about 9 business days, and about 16 business days for custom screen orders, plus normal shipping time. Normal lead times are expected back in early September.

A 151-inch screen is cut and sewn in Milton, Wisconsin with the same full-impact construction as any stock size, so an exact fit gives up nothing.
How Much Space You Need
The sliders will take almost any wall, but your swing still needs its room: at least 10 feet back from the screen with roughly 7 feet of clearance in every direction. Check the grid below against your measurements before you set the sliders.

Padded Panels*

Building the Room, Step by Step
1. Plan & Measure
Start with the included setup instructions to plan the layout and measure your wall so every component fits your room.
2. Install the Hardware
Mount the corner cable anchors to the top and bottom plates of your walls, install the starter panels in a straight, even line, then add the ceiling snaphooks, using a laser level to keep everything aligned.
3. Hang & Tension the Screen
Zip tie the corners of the screen, secure the remaining grommets to the cables with hook-and-loop straps, then pull the cables taut through the cable locks for a flat, even hitting surface.
4. Secure the Flaps, Then Finish
Attach the 3 detached flaps to the starter panels to cover the exposed cable, then protect the walls and ceiling with curtains, wall or acoustic tiles, or padded panels.

Some marking and wear from the first sessions is normal, and how long a screen lasts depends on skill level, how often you play and how it is installed. If something looks unusual rather than like normal wear, send us photos and your order number and we will take it up with Carl's Place. All impact screen sales are final with no returns. Returns
All Simulator Impact Screen sales are final and no returns will be accepted. Once golf balls have been hit into a screen, it cannot be resold, so it cannot be returned. The screens are white polyester, and they mark easily if handled or used improperly.

The Carl's Place Built-In Golf Room Kit supplies a custom-sized screen and all the hardware to mount and tension it, and you finish the walls and ceiling for an integrated, studio look.
