One bay for golf, baseball, soccer, arcade games and movie nights
The add-on camera, the nets and the projectors that turn a golf bay into a sports arcade and a movie room.
A projected golf simulator bay already has a big screen and a projector; here is how to use it all week.
Can a golf simulator double as a multi-sport simulator and home theater?
Yes. The screen and projector already show movies and video games; a ceiling camera adds 14 sports games; and a Net Return net takes baseballs and soccer balls as well as golf balls.
Sports arcade
TruGolf MultiSport ARCADE: a ceiling-mounted two-camera unit that works with any launch monitor.
Multi-sport net
Every Net Return size is rated for 225 mph and used for golf, baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse.
Movie and game night
The BenQ AK700ST plays any HDMI source and has a 10 W speaker with eARC.
- What you already own: the projector shows movies and games from any compatible HDMI source, and a gaming PC that runs the golf software runs Steam and streaming apps too.
How does the TruGolf MultiSport ARCADE turn a golf bay into a sports arcade?
Two ceiling-mounted cameras capture the velocity and direction of a kicked, thrown or hit ball and play it into 14 games on your screen:

Kick
- Breakaway Soccer: penalty kick, target, passing
- Foot Golf, 4 courses
- Field Goal Frenzy (football kick)

Bat and throw
- Baseball (pitching)
- Rally Baseball (batting)
- Zombie Dodgeball

Throw, shoot, toss
- Quarterbacks (throw)
- Hoops, 3 modes
- Corn Hole: classic, tic tac toe, 301

Hockey and arcade
- Slapshot Hockey: goalie, target, blackout, long shot
- Bowl-a-Rama and Disc-Go Golf, up to 8 players
- Wild West Shooting Gallery and Wilderness Hunter (light gun)

- Carl's Place: multisport use may change how fast a screen wears
- Hit real baseballs into a net (our guidance)
Which golf net works for baseball, soccer and lacrosse too?
The Net Return sets up in under 5 minutes with no tools, indoors or out. Three packages add the mat and side barriers:

Home Net & Mat Package
- Room: about 14 ft long; the net stands 7 ft tall
- You get: Home net, Pro Turf 6 x 10 ft mat, side barriers, sandbags, tees
- Pick it when: the ceiling is low and the kids are small

Pro Net & Mat Package
- Room: about 14 ft long; the net stands 7.5 ft tall
- You get: Pro net, Pro Turf 6 x 10 ft mat, side barriers, sandbags, tees
- Pick it when: adults hit driver and the kids still get their turn

Pro Large Package
- Room: about 14 ft long; the nets stand 8 ft tall
- You get: Pro 8, 9 or 10 net, Pro Turf mat, side barriers, sandbags, tees
- Pick it when: the goal needs width, or two kids kick at once

Net only, eight sizes on the Net Return page; a genuine replacement net slips onto the same frame:
| Size | Width x height | Net only | Replacement net |
|---|---|---|---|
| Junior | 4.5 x 4.5 ft | $295 | n/a |
| Mini | 5 x 6 ft | $549 | $274 |
| Home | 7 x 7 ft | $695 | $347 |
| Pro | 8 x 7.5 ft | $795 | $397 |
| Pro 8 | 8 x 8 ft | $895 | $447 |
| Pro 9 | 9 x 8 ft | $995 | $497 |
| Pro 10 | 10 x 8 ft | $1,095 | $547 |
| Pro XL | 10 x 9.5 ft | $1,599 | $799 |
- Add-ons: side barriers ($249, in all three packages; highly recommended indoors) and No Fly Zone V2 (from $289, 3.5 ft of overhang) on the net page; frame pads (from $39, sold separately) against mis-hit balls and pucks.
- Warranty: 3 years or 250,000 shots, whichever comes first.
- Speed reads for the kids: the PRGR Black ($199.99) also reads baseball pitch and bat speed and soccer strikes.
Can you watch movies and play video games on a golf simulator screen?
Yes. The projector takes HDMI like a TV, so a streaming stick, a console or a laptop plugs in. Three 4K BenQ projectors for movie night:

BenQ AK700ST
- Two HDMI 2.0b and USB-C
- 10 W speaker with eARC
- Golf Mode

BenQ LK830ST
- 0.496:1 fixed throw ratio
- 15 W speaker
- HDR10 and HLG

BenQ TK710STi
- Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and YouTube
- Dolby Atmos passthrough over eARC
- HDR10 and HLG

- Nate H., Carl's Place product manager, who has the Built-In kit at home: "I'm happy that I chose a 16:9 format so I can easily switch between golf sim and home theater uses."
- Console gaming: BenQ names 4K/60Hz (16.7 ms) and 1080p/120Hz (8.3 ms) as the TK710STi's console modes; the 4.2 ms figure needs a 1080p/240Hz source such as a gaming PC.
- Sound: add a soundbar on eARC and acoustic tiles ($279.95 for 100 sq ft).
Which golf software has games the whole family will play?
These three add party modes, mini games or a living-room player count:

E6 CONNECT
- Courses, mini-games, skills combines and training aids
- Its launcher runs the MultiSport ARCADE games

TGC 2019
- Online and local multiplayer
- Course designer
- Character creator

GSPro
- 2,500+ community-built courses
- Online multiplayer
- A launch monitor with games built in: the Garmin Approach R50 launch monitor plays on its own screen or over HDMI, with multiplayer for foursomes and custom turn order.
All titles and compatibility: the simulation software hub.
How do you plan a bay that does golf, sports, games and movies?
Decide what the room is for on a Tuesday night, then pick the build:

Net package
- Room: about 14 ft long, 8 ft ceiling
- Add: side barriers and frame pads (the $1,399 Home package has barriers)
- Pick it when: the kids come first

Floating Screen
- Room: 10 x 9 x 14 ft for the 8 ft bay
- Add: the BenQ TK710STi for HDR movies and streaming
- Pick it when: movies matter as much as golf

DIY Enclosure
- Room: 8 ft 10 in x 8 ft 7 in x 16 ft 9 in minimum
- Add: the MultiSport ARCADE camera and its sports gear
- Pick it when: the bay is a game room

Pro Enclosure
- Room: 11 ft 7 in x 8 ft 9 in x 16 ft minimum
- Add: a floor launch monitor plus the ARCADE camera
- Pick it when: the room is finished and wide
- Depth: plan the bay's depth for the kick, not just the swing (mount figures above).
- Launch monitor: a floor unit (SkyTrak ST MAX, Garmin R50, Bushnell LPi, Uneekor EYE MINI) leaves the ceiling to the camera and the projector.
Bottom line: what makes a golf simulator a multi-sport simulator?
Three things, cheapest first:
A multi-sport net
Rated for 225 mph and used for five sports; add side barriers for indoor play.
A movie-night projector
Such as the BenQ AK700ST, or the TK710STi with its QS02 Android TV dongle, on a 16:9 screen.
The sports camera
14 games and any launch monitor.
