Garmin Approach S72 Premium GPS Golf Smartwatch
Garmin calls the Approach S72 its most advanced golf smartwatch: a titanium bezel, a sapphire crystal lens and a ComfortFit fabric band around an AMOLED display with 43,000+ preloaded courses.
It keeps the course maps and virtual caddie golfers know from the S70, then adds tools that measure your swing, your heart rate and your putting. We carry the 47mm case in two colorways: Carbon Gray/Red and Silver/Citron.
What's New for Your Game
Golf Biometric Data
After the round, see how your heart rate affected your performance and spot trends in how it relates to your score.
Swing Metrics
Review hand speed, backswing length, wrist rotation and more during a range session and after your round.
Green Reading
Set the pin and the watch uses green contour data to show your aim point and line on select courses.
Putting Analysis
Single- and multiple-round data shows your putting tendencies in different conditions.
On-Device Aerial Imagery
See the shot ahead from above to pick where to lay up and the best place to miss.
Driving Range Activity
Track metrics for every range swing, and the session logs to Garmin Connect toward your fitness goals.
Green reading, putting analysis, aerial imagery and green contour data require an active Garmin Golf membership. Biometric and swing data are estimates of the metrics tracked.
Which Features Need a Garmin Golf Membership?
Course maps, distances, the virtual caddie, PlaysLike Distance, scoring and swing metrics work without a membership. Green contour data, green reading, putting analysis and aerial imagery need a Garmin Golf membership, a monthly or annual subscription you activate in the Garmin Golf app.
What Changed in the Hardware?
Sapphire Crystal Lens
A step up from the Gorilla Glass 3 lens on the Approach S70.
Titanium Bezel
Titanium replaces the S70's ceramic bezel, in Carbon Gray/Red DLC or Silver/Citron.
ComfortFit Fabric Band
A soft fabric band in place of the S70's silicone. Swap in any QuickFit 22mm band.
Built-In LED Flashlight
Variable brightness levels, handy for finding a ball marker in the bottom of your bag.
Speaker and Microphone
Make and take calls when paired to your phone, and control the watch with your voice.
Garmin ECG App
Records an ECG and checks for signs of atrial fibrillation. Adults 22+, in supported regions.
How Does the S72 Help You Practice?
Driving range activity records metrics for each swing, and Garmin Connect logs practice toward your fitness goals.
Approach CT10 sensors provide automatic club tracking, and the Approach Z30 rangefinder shares ranged pin distances with the watch (both sold separately).
Is the Approach S72 Right for You?
Choose the S72 for swing metrics and golf biometric data alongside course maps and a virtual caddie.
