How to Set Up the MLM2PRO with GSPro

Share

The Rapsodo MLM2PRO is one of the most popular portable launch monitors paired with GSPro -- 500+ community-built courses, ball and club data, and an official Rapsodo integration that needs no third-party connector. But that GSPro link runs through a specific license type and a re-authentication step that trips up most first-time owners.

This guide walks through the full setup in order: buying or converting a GSPro license tied to the MLM2PRO, prepping the unit, authenticating in the Rapsodo app, pairing over Bluetooth through GSPro Connect, PC specs, and the fixes for the one error almost every MLM2PRO owner sees on day one.

The single most important thing to know up front: you must re-authenticate the MLM2PRO for GSPro every 24 hours, from the Rapsodo mobile app, before you launch GSPro. Skipping this is the number-one reason a working connection suddenly "stops." It takes about 30 seconds and is covered in Step 3 below.

What You Need Before Starting

The MLM2PRO talks to GSPro through the Rapsodo app and GSPro Connect. Confirm you have all of the following before opening any software:

  • A Windows 10 or 11 gaming PC. GSPro is Windows-only -- it will not run on a Mac, iPad, or Android device.
  • Bluetooth on the PC. Pairing happens over Bluetooth, so your PC needs built-in Bluetooth or an inexpensive USB Bluetooth adapter.
  • Stable Wi-Fi on the PC. GSPro uses your internet connection to download and stream its courses.
  • The Rapsodo MLM2PRO with an active Premium membership. GSPro play is a Premium feature ($199.99/yr or $599.99 lifetime; a 45-day Premium trial is included with the unit).
  • A phone or tablet running the Rapsodo MLM2PRO app. This is required to authenticate the unit for GSPro at the start of each session.
  • A GSPro license tied to the MLM2PRO. GSPro is $250/year and includes updates -- you can buy the GSPro 1-year license from us, or convert an existing license (see Step 1).

Note that two subscriptions apply for GSPro play: Rapsodo MLM2PRO Premium ($199.99/yr) and GSPro ($250/yr). Both are required. If you are still deciding whether the MLM2PRO is the right unit, our Rapsodo MLM2PRO review and our MLM2PRO vs. Garmin Approach R10 comparison both go deeper on the hardware.

Step 1: Get a GSPro License Tied to the MLM2PRO

GSPro sells separate license types per launch monitor. Your license has to be set to the Rapsodo MLM2PRO before it can pair.

  1. New GSPro users: buy the GSPro Golf Simulation Software (1-year subscription) from us ($250/yr). When you activate the license, set it to the Rapsodo MLM2PRO -- GSPro ties each license to a single launch monitor, so it has to be assigned to the MLM2PRO before it can pair.
  2. Existing GSPro users (you already own a license for a different launch monitor): go to gsprogolf.com/convert.html, enter your license key, select MLM2PRO, download the latest GSPro version, and clear your GSPro Connect settings.
  3. Install GSPro on the Windows PC you plan to play on. Make sure it is fully updated before continuing -- GSPro pushes regular updates that affect the connection.

Step 2: Prep the MLM2PRO

Before you touch GSPro, get the unit itself ready.

  1. Confirm your MLM2PRO Premium membership is active. If you are new, start the included 45-day Premium trial -- GSPro play will not work without Premium.
  2. Update both the MLM2PRO firmware and the Rapsodo app to the latest version.
  3. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, make sure the unit is charged, and set it on its tripod behind the ball.

Step 3: Authenticate in the Rapsodo App (Required Every 24 Hours)

This is the step that matters most, and it must be repeated every 24 hours, before you launch GSPro. Do it from your phone or tablet:

  1. Open the Rapsodo MLM2PRO app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Tap PLAY in the bottom navigation.
  3. Tap 3rd Party Apps in the top navigation.
  4. Select GSPro from the app list.
  5. Tap Authenticate Now.
  6. Make sure the MLM2PRO is connected to your mobile device -- follow the on-screen pairing prompts if asked.
  7. Wait for the success confirmation before moving on.

If you only play once a day, you will run this once each session. If a connection that worked yesterday refuses to connect today, this expired authentication is almost always why -- just redo Step 3.

Step 4: Connect to the PC Through GSPro Connect

With the unit authenticated, move to your PC.

  1. Launch GSPro from the desktop launcher. GSPro Connect opens automatically.
  2. Click the Rapsodo MLM2PRO button (first-time setup).
  3. GSPro Connect searches for the MLM2PRO over Bluetooth and auto-connects. The first connection can take about 30 seconds; later ones are faster.
  4. You are connected when the GSPro Connect top bar turns green and the status reads "ready for shot."

Step 5: Play

Pick a course or the range in GSPro and start hitting. The MLM2PRO sends each shot straight to GSPro, giving you access to 500+ community-built courses with ball and club data.

Recommended PC Specs for GSPro + MLM2PRO

Troubleshooting the MLM2PRO + GSPro Connection

Most connection problems come down to a handful of causes. Work through these in order.

"Connection stopped" or it won't connect at all. You almost certainly skipped the 24-hour re-authentication. Go back to your phone, redo Step 3 in the Rapsodo app (PLAY → 3rd Party Apps → GSPro → Authenticate Now), wait for the success message, then relaunch GSPro. This is by far the most common fix.

No Bluetooth on the PC. Pairing is over Bluetooth, so a PC without it won't find the unit. Add an inexpensive USB Bluetooth adapter and try again.

GSPro Connect won't discover the unit. Confirm the MLM2PRO is on, charged, and has Bluetooth enabled, and that it is within range of the PC. Also make sure your phone's Bluetooth isn't grabbing the unit at the same time -- close the Rapsodo app's active connection once you have authenticated so the PC can pair.

Courses won't load or the game lags. GSPro downloads and streams its courses, so confirm your Wi-Fi is stable and that your PC meets at least the minimum GPU spec above. Drop the resolution if your frame rate is low.

You're on a Mac or iPad. GSPro does not support macOS, iPadOS, or Android. You need a Windows 10 or 11 PC to run it -- there is no workaround.
