No. The VX tracks ball and club data without markers or stickers, and it reads spin from the dimple pattern of any standard golf ball. ProTee recommends avoiding balls with a glittery coating (for example, Srixon Z-Star), and standard tour-level balls like the Titleist Pro V1 are a typical choice. For best wedge spin reads, avoid glittery or highly reflective ball covers that can interfere with dimple-based spin tracking.

E6 Connect, yes: ProTee says ProTee Labs lets you use TGC 2019, GSPro and E6 with the VX. After you buy the third-party connector for E6, ProTee's support team activates it and you connect Labs to E6 from within the Labs software. ProTee says E6 Apex support has no ETA yet. All six of our formats work with an overhead mount: Net, Floating Screen, DIY Enclosure, Pro Enclosure, Curved Screen and Built-In Screen. The VX mounts overhead, just over 3 ft in front of the hitting area, at 9 to 10 ft above the hitting surface, so it takes no floor space. In a net build it mounts on the ceiling the same way; a taller ceiling can work with a suitable drop mount.
