FSX (Foresight Simulation Experience) is Foresight's own software that turns the data from your launch monitor into a playable simulator — rendering your shots on screen, letting you play full courses, and giving you the practice tools to improve. Because Foresight builds the software and the hardware, the integration is tight and the data is presented exactly as the unit measures it. FSX runs on Windows (it is not available for Mac), and FSX Play looks its best on a gaming-grade PC with a dedicated graphics card.
FSX Play: The Course-Play Platform
FSX Play is the course-play app in the FSX suite. It delivers premium, photo-realistic renderings of famous courses — venues like Pebble Beach, St Andrews, and Bethpage Black — along with a free practice range and starter courses to get going. Foresight is no longer adding courses to the FSX library, and individual FSX Play courses can be bought through December 31, 2026. FSX 2020 is the feature-rich simulation application that shipped with pre-Foresight+ units, and it remains a deep, stable platform years into its life. FSX vs Third-Party Software: GSPro and Awesome Golf
You are not locked into FSX. Foresight units also work with two popular third-party platforms:
- GSPro — a community-driven simulator with a huge library of user-built courses. Foresight sells a one-year GSPro purchase code that you redeem on the GSPro platform; after the first year, the subscription is managed through GSPro directly. If you already own FSX Play or FSX 2020, that license keeps working with GSPro, and new owners without an FSX license need an active Foresight+ Gold membership (trial memberships do not qualify).
- Awesome Golf — a polished, approachable platform with games and practice, activated through a separate license.
Many owners run FSX for its native integration and add GSPro for its enormous course catalog — the two run side by side on the same PC.
What Comes With Your Foresight Unit Now
New GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX, and Falcon units no longer ship with FSX. Each one includes a 30-day Foresight+ and Course Pass trial, and after the trial the Premier course library needs a Foresight+ Silver ($199/yr) or Gold ($599/yr) membership plus a Course Pass ($295/yr for 35 courses, $595/yr for all 111). Ball and club data stay available on the free tier. Have an FSX license (Play, Pro, or 2020)? It keeps working. Because FSX Play, FSX 2020, and Premier run on Windows, plan on a Windows PC; Foresight lists Windows 10 or 11, an Intel i5-12500, 16GB of RAM, and an RTX 4060 with 8GB of VRAM as the Premier minimum. The exception is our remaining Foresight GC3S stock: each unit ships with the first year of the Gold Subscription, which includes FSX Play, FSX 2020, and FSX Pro, plus a Bushnell Pro X3 LINK rangefinder that new Foresight launch monitors no longer include.
Moving From FSX Play to Foresight+
- Foresight+ and Premier replace FSX. All new Foresight feature work goes into Foresight+ and the Premier software.
- FSX Play keeps working. Foresight keeps it on critical bug fixes and security updates with no new features, and has no plan to end it. New FSX Play licenses are no longer distributed.
- Courses you bought individually carry over. They play in Foresight Premier with an active Silver ($199/yr) or Gold ($599/yr) membership once Foresight converts each course to the Premier engine, and they stay in FSX Play too. The free tier does not include them.
- Courses that came with an old subscription tier stay in FSX Play. They do not carry into Premier, where that library now comes through Course Pass.
- Selling your unit? FSX licenses do not transfer to the new owner.
- Bushnell Launch Pro owners use the same Foresight+ membership. On the Launch Pro and Launch Pro Indoor, club data needs Silver or higher.
Looking at the new Foresight GC2? It uses two high-speed cameras and measures 14 ball data points, with no club data, while the three-camera GC3 adds club data.
