How to Set Up E6 Connect with Swing Caddie SC4 PRO

Share

The Swing Caddie SC4 PRO is one of the only sub-$600 portable launch monitors that ships with real simulator software included: E6 Connect with five photorealistic courses and a driving range. The catch is that the activation flow is not in the box-fold quick start guide, so first-time owners often plug everything in and wonder why the courses are not unlocked yet.

This guide walks through every step in order: physical setup of the SC4 PRO, Bluetooth pairing, E6 Connect account creation, activation card redemption, software install on PC or iPad, and the final pairing dance between E6 Connect and the launch monitor. By the end you will be playing Aviara, Bandon Dunes, Stone Canyon Club, Sanctuary, or Wade Hampton in your own bay.

What is Included With the SC4 PRO E6 Connect Bundle

Before any setup, confirm what shipped in the box. Voice Caddie's stated package contents are:

  • SC4 PRO launch monitor unit
  • Magnetic remote control
  • USB-C cable
  • SC4 PRO Alignment Stand (current bundle)
  • User manual / quick guide
  • E6 Connect Activation Card with your unique product key

The activation card is a single sheet of paper or thin cardstock with a 20-character product key (formatted as five blocks of letters and numbers). Do not lose it. The product key is what unlocks the five included courses inside E6 Connect, and Voice Caddie does not email you a duplicate copy.

What You Need Before Starting

You can run E6 Connect with the SC4 PRO on either a PC or an iPad/iPhone. Voice Caddie officially supports both paths. You will need:

  • A device that meets the E6 Connect system requirements (full table further down)
  • An internet connection for E6 Connect activation, course downloads, and online course updates
  • A hitting surface with at least 10 feet of ball flight from impact to your net or impact screen
  • Standard golf balls only. Voice Caddie specifies the SC4 PRO is calibrated for regular golf balls and reads on practice or foam balls will be unreliable
  • Clear floor space 5 feet directly behind the ball for the SC4 PRO unit and stand
  • Either a display connected to your PC (TV, projector, monitor) or your iPad screen for the simulator graphics

If you do not have a hitting bay yet, our guides on simulator mats under $700 and simulator projectors walk through the rest of the bay build.

Step 1: Set Up Your SC4 PRO Hardware

Voice Caddie's official setup is short and specific. Get this right before touching any software.

  1. Open the SC4 PRO stand. Push the center projection on the lower back of the unit. The stand pops out and locks the unit at its correct mounting angle.
  2. Place the SC4 PRO 5 feet directly behind the ball. Voice Caddie's tolerance is approximately 4.5 to 5 feet. Closer than that confuses the radar; farther than that reduces accuracy.
  3. Align the unit's red center line with the ball and your target. Voice Caddie calls this the alignment line, and an off-line unit will give skewed launch direction reads.
  4. Set the base level with the top of your hitting surface. The unit must sit on the same plane as the ball, not lower or higher.
  5. Press the power button on the back (the "+" button) for 2 seconds to turn the unit on. The orange LCD lights up.
  6. Confirm the mounting angle on the LCD reads 0. Voice Caddie's optimal mounting angle is exactly 0. If the value is off, adjust the stand before pairing.

For a deeper look at what the SC4 PRO measures and how it stacks up to the SC300i, see our Swing Caddie SC4 PRO review.

Step 2: Pair the SC4 PRO Over Bluetooth

The SC4 PRO communicates with E6 Connect over Bluetooth, the same way it communicates with the VoiceCaddie S app. Pairing is a three-step handshake using a 6-digit pin generated by the unit.

  1. Install the My Swing Caddie app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). This is the same app the unit uses for shot history and swing video.
  2. Place the device close to the SC4 PRO and turn the unit on.
  3. Open My Swing Caddie and tap the Bluetooth icon at the top of the home screen. The app scans for nearby Voice Caddie devices.
  4. Tap your SC4 PRO's serial number in the device list when it appears.
  5. Read the 6-digit pin number Voice Caddie displays on the SC4 PRO's LCD (for example 972354).
  6. Type the pin into the app and tap OK.
  7. The unit's Bluetooth status icon will go solid blue when the pairing succeeds.

Successful Bluetooth pairing with the My Swing Caddie app does not connect the SC4 PRO to E6 Connect yet. E6 Connect runs as a separate app and pairs with the unit independently in step 6 below.

Step 3: Create Your E6 Connect Account

E6 Connect is published by TruGolf. The activation flow runs through TruGolf's portal at portal.e6golf.com, separate from Voice Caddie's account system.

  1. Open portal.e6golf.com in any browser on your PC, iPad, or phone.
  2. Click Sign Up. This is the first-time-user path. If you already have an E6 Connect account from a different launch monitor, sign in with that account instead.
  3. Enter your email address and create a password.
  4. Validate your email by clicking the confirmation link TruGolf sends to your inbox. The activation card cannot be redeemed until your email is validated.

One account can be used across multiple launch monitors, so if you already use E6 Connect with another unit you do not need to create a second account for the SC4 PRO.

Step 4: Redeem Your E6 Connect Activation Card

This is the step most golfers skip the first time and then have to come back to.

  1. Sign in at portal.e6golf.com with the account you created above.
  2. From your main profile page, click Licenses in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Redeem Key at the top of the licenses page.
  4. Type the 20-character product key from your SC4 PRO activation card into the redemption form. The format is five blocks of five characters separated by dashes (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx).
  5. Click Redeem.

The five included courses (Aviara Golf Club & Resort, Bandon Dunes, Stone Canyon Club, Sanctuary, Wade Hampton Golf Club) plus one driving range will appear under your Licenses tab. TruGolf states that authorization can take up to three business days, but most SC4 PRO owners see the licenses register within a few minutes.

Step 5: Download and Install E6 Connect

The download path differs depending on whether you are running E6 Connect on a PC or on an iPad/iPhone.

Installing E6 Connect on a Windows PC

  1. Open connect.e6golf.com/update/e6-connect/ on the PC you will use for the simulator.
  2. Download the E6 Connect installer.
  3. Run the installer and accept the install location. The full E6 Connect install requires approximately 25 GB of free hard drive space.
  4. Launch E6 Connect once the install completes and sign in with the same E6 Connect account from step 3.
  5. The five SC4 PRO courses will appear in your course library because they are tied to your account, not the install.

Installing E6 Connect on an iPad or iPhone

  1. Open the App Store on the iPad or iPhone.
  2. Search for E6 Connect (published by TruGolf). The current iOS app ID is 1360027026.
  3. Install the app.
  4. Launch it and sign in with your E6 Connect account.
  5. The licenses you redeemed in step 4 will sync from your account.

An iPad with a larger screen is the most popular SC4 PRO E6 Connect setup because it does not require a Windows machine. The trade-off is that an iPad cannot drive a wall-sized impact screen at the same resolution as a PC plus projector.

Step 6: Launch E6 Connect and Pair the SC4 PRO

Last step. With the SC4 PRO powered on and 5 feet behind the ball:

  1. Open E6 Connect on your PC or iPad.
  2. From the main menu choose Settings and then Launch Monitor.
  3. Select Voice Caddie SC4 PRO from the list of supported launch monitors.
  4. E6 Connect scans over Bluetooth for the unit. Wait until your SC4 PRO's serial number appears.
  5. Tap or click your unit to pair it with E6 Connect.
  6. Once the connection indicator turns green, return to the main menu and pick a course or the driving range.
  7. Hit a shot. The SC4 PRO's data will populate inside E6 Connect and the ball will fly on screen.

From this point on, opening E6 Connect with the SC4 PRO already powered up will auto-reconnect within a few seconds.

SC4 PRO E6 Connect System Requirements

Verified minimums published by TruGolf for E6 Connect, and the SC4 PRO platforms officially supported by Voice Caddie. Plan your bay around these numbers.

Mac compatibility N/A Voice Caddie officially lists iOS and PC for the SC4 PRO. macOS is not part of the published support list.

The 5 Included E6 Connect Courses

Voice Caddie ships the SC4 PRO with five real courses pre-licensed in E6 Connect, plus one driving range. None require an additional subscription. Here is what you are getting.

  • Aviara Golf Club & Resort: Carlsbad, California; an Arnold Palmer-designed resort track with generous fairways and dramatic elevation changes.
  • Bandon Dunes: Bandon, Oregon; the original course on the Bandon Dunes Resort property and one of the most highly rated public courses in the United States.
  • Stone Canyon Club: Oro Valley, Arizona; a Jay Morrish desert design with hard-edged risk-reward holes.
  • Sanctuary: Sedalia, Colorado; a Jim Engh private mountain track previously owned by RE/MAX founder Dave Liniger.
  • Wade Hampton Golf Club: Cashiers, North Carolina; a Tom Fazio mountain course routinely ranked in the top 100 in the United States.

The included Driving Range module gives you a virtual range with target distances and full ball flight tracing for technical practice. Many SC4 PRO owners spend more time on the range than the courses, especially when they are first dialing in club gapping.

Common SC4 PRO E6 Connect Setup Issues

The same handful of issues come up repeatedly in the first session. The fix for each is short.

E6 Connect cannot find the SC4 PRO over Bluetooth

Make sure the SC4 PRO is powered on with the LCD lit, and that no other device is currently paired to it. The SC4 PRO will only hold one active Bluetooth connection at a time. If your phone is connected through the My Swing Caddie app, close that app fully (not just background) before launching E6 Connect.

Courses do not appear in my E6 Connect library

The activation card has not been redeemed yet, or you are signed into the wrong E6 Connect account. Sign out of E6 Connect, sign in at portal.e6golf.com, confirm the licenses are listed under your account, and reopen the app. If the redemption was within the last 24 hours, give it up to three business days as TruGolf states; otherwise email TruGolf support with your product key.

Shots are tracked by the SC4 PRO but E6 Connect shows no ball flight

The launch monitor is connected to the My Swing Caddie app but not to E6 Connect. Open E6 Connect, go to Settings, Launch Monitor, and re-pair the unit so E6 owns the active Bluetooth session.

Spin rate is missing from indoor shots with my pitching wedge

Voice Caddie specifies the SC4 PRO does not provide spin rate on club selections of GW through LW. This is a documented hardware limit for the wedges, not a setup issue. The SC300i has the same limit if you ever cross-reference. See our SC300i review for the broader Swing Caddie line spin coverage.

My net is too close to the SC4 PRO and shots read short

Voice Caddie recommends approximately 10 feet of ball flight from impact to the net or impact screen. Anything tighter and the radar cannot compute carry distance and apex cleanly. If you cannot achieve 10 feet of clearance, you are looking at a camera-based launch monitor like the Foresight GC3S or Bushnell Launch Pro, which read in the first foot or two after impact.
