The Net Return Floating Screen Simulator Bay
Impact Screen

The Net Return Floating Screen Simulator Bay floating screen

A tight screen sends the ball back at you. The Floating Screen Simulator Bay lets the polyester impact screen float inside the netted bay, which minimizes ball rebound, so the bay can be used in tighter, smaller spaces. The entire bay is covered in high-density netting, including behind the screen, with side barriers and rear and side valances.

  • Lightweight, rugged 1.5" tubular aluminum frame
  • Commercial grade, UV treated black polyester netting (not nylon)
  • One person sets it up in under 45 minutes with push button Quick Color Connect assembly
  • Works with any golf simulator software, and doubles as a big screen for movies, football and video games
Screen Widths

Three widths, one 9 ft ceiling

Wider means a bigger picture and more room for mishits. Every width stands 8'6" tall and 3'6" deep, needs a 9 ft ceiling and can sit 6" from a wall. The Net Return puts depth for a full swing at 14 to 22 ft, depending on your height, club length and launch monitor. The Garmin Approach R10 sits 6 to 8 ft behind the ball, and Garmin calls for at least 8 ft from the ball to the screen; radar units need at least 18 ft from the screen to the launch monitor, even though that math alone is only 14. Then confirm depth, including the projector mounting distance and your own swing room.

Spec 8' Wide 10' Wide 12' Wide
Footprint 8'W x 8'6"H x 3'6"D 10'W x 8'6"H x 3'6"D 12'W x 8'6"H x 3'6"D
Minimum width x height 10'W x 9'H 12'W x 9'H 14'W x 9'H

*Note: Impact screens can be returned unused, but not once they have been hit. The screen is white polyester fabric that can smudge or stain if handled improperly, so measure your space before ordering.

Real Feel Country Club Elite Golf Mat
Hitting Mat

Hitting mat

The package ships with the Real Feel Country Club Elite Golf Mat, 5'W x 5'L. Its long, dense fibers let you swing down and through like a real fairway, and it takes a real wooden tee.

The Fiberbuilt 7'x4' Single-Hitting and 9'x4' Center-Hitting Studio Mats are engineered to give the same ball flight as a real grass fairway and virtually eliminate turf shock.

Three Fiberbuilt mats are one click away in the builder, or choose "I already have a mat" to remove it:

  • Fiberbuilt Performance Turf Tee Box Mat, 8'W x 4'L: tee up anywhere on the mat with a real tee
  • Fiberbuilt 7'x4' Grass Series Single-Hitting Studio Mat: 300,000-shot guarantee in a space-saving footprint
  • Fiberbuilt 9'x4' Grass Series Center-Hitting Studio Mat: fits right- and left-handed players, 300,000-shot guarantee
Tour Golf Simulator Landing Pad
Landing Pad

Optional: Tour Golf Landing Pad

The Tour Landing Pad cushions and quiets balls dropping off the screen, and keeps them from scuffing floors or rolling under it. It is not selected by default. Tick it and the builder adds the width that matches your screen:

  • 9'W x 8'L for the 8' Wide screen
  • 11'W x 8'L for the 10' Wide screen
  • 13'W x 8'L for the 12' Wide screen
Optoma ZW350ST Short Throw Laser Projector
Projector

Projector and ceiling mount

The package includes the Optoma ZW350ST, a 0.521:1 short-throw projector with 3,600 lumens and a 30,000-hour DuraCore laser, so there is no bulb to replace. The ceiling mount is included.

Upgrades to 1080p and 4K BenQ short-throw projectors are available in the builder, and the ceiling mount switches to match the one you choose.

SurfThing Gaming Computer
Computer

Optional: SurfThing gaming computer and touch screen

Windows simulation software such as GSPro needs a gaming-class computer. SurfThing builds them for golf simulation, in a desktop tower or a laptop. With the desktop PC, add the SurfThing DT2424H touch screen to start rounds, review data and scrub swing video from the hitting area. Skip the computer if you will run an iPad or phone app.

  • SurfThing Enhanced Level PC: Core Ultra 5 with RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD
  • SurfThing Enhanced Level Laptop: Core Ultra 9 with RTX 5070, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD

FAQ

Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator Questions

What comes in the Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator?
The base package is the Garmin Approach R10 launch monitor, The Net Return Floating Screen Simulator Bay (8' Wide, with side barriers), a Real Feel Country Club Elite Mat 5'W x 5'L, an Optoma ZW350ST short-throw laser projector and its ceiling mount. The 10' and 12' widths are one click away, and a landing pad, gaming computer and touch screen are added in the builder.
Can I use the R10 both at home and at the driving range?
Yes, the R10 is portable and can be used indoors or easily taken to the range for consistent shot tracking.
Can Garmin R10 record swing video and track shot history?
Yes. It saves your shot data, and Swing Capture records swing video with the metrics for each shot in the free Driving Range mode.
How much room does the Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator need?
Every width needs a 9 ft ceiling. Width is 10 ft for the 8' screen, 12 ft for the 10' and 14 ft for the 12'. The frame itself stands 8'6" tall and 3'6" deep and can sit 6" from a wall.
Which screen width should I choose?
Pick the widest one your room allows. Wider means a bigger picture and more room for mishits. All three are the same height and depth, so width is the only thing that changes.
Which projector works with the Floating Screen Simulator Bay?
The Net Return recommends a short-throw projector for the Floating Screen Simulator Bay. The included Optoma ZW350ST is 0.521:1, and the BenQ AH500ST (0.499:1) and LK830ST (0.496:1) are short-throw units as well. Laser and LED units are for people who want long light-source life; 4K is for people who want the sharpest course graphics.
Does the Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator include simulation software or a computer?
The Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator does not include a computer. Registered R10 owners get free access to a starter set of courses in the E6 Connect iOS app; full simulation software is licensed separately, and a gaming computer is optional in the builder. The SurfThing PC and laptop offered here are built for GSPro and E6 Connect.
How long does the Floating Screen Simulator Bay take to set up?
One person can set it up in under 45 minutes with push button Quick Color Connect assembly.
How fast does the Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator ship?
Most items usually ship within 1-3 business days when in stock. Manufacturer delays can happen; we email tracking the moment it ships. Shipping is free on most orders within the contiguous 48 states (some exceptions apply). We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Does Top Shelf Golf offer financing for the Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator?
Top Shelf Golf offers financing through Affirm with flexible monthly payment options. Select Affirm at checkout to check your rate; it takes seconds and won't affect your credit score. 0% APR options may be available depending on eligibility.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.7 / 5 from 35 reviews.

I had a very good experience working with Ivan to select the items I needed, he was great. I had a little trouble putting it together but he helped me with videos that got me through it. I still have not had a lot of time to use the entire unit but I seem to be getting along. The yardage for the holes at my home course are not correct but I have played most of the holes. Putting is something that I have to practice. I am going to keep working with it and will call with questions. Thanks. Richard Coats

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I've been using the Garmin Approach R10 for a few weeks now, and I’m seriously impressed. As a beginner golfer, this little launch monitor has completely transformed the way I practice. It’s compact, easy to set up, and surprisingly accurate for its size and price point. The detailed shot metrics—like carry distance, club head speed, launch angle, and more—help me understand my swing and make real improvements. Pairing it with the Garmin Golf app on my iPhone was seamless, and the simulated range feature adds a fun, interactive element to my sessions. Whether I'm practicing in the backyard or indoors into a net, the R10 gives me real-time feedback that keeps me motivated and focused. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to get better without spending thousands on high-end launch monitors!

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I have only had a short session on the driving range, but so far it seems pretty accurate to what my normal yardage is. The setup was incredibly quick and easy and adding my clubs to my bag was not hard. So far my only complaint is that the clubs come pre-loaded and they do not have a 7 wood as an option. You can select a hybrid with a similar attach angle and fudge it, but not quite the same. Cant wait to try the simulation mode!

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Top Self Golf got the R10 to me before any other shop has it available. Love getting on the course at 1:am in my pajamas.... and working on my swing before a round!!! The free version of E6 Connect is great.

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Garmin R10 has been incredible to use. Having the E6 courses available was the biggest bonus. Day One you can actually play sim Golf, whether it's into a net or with a screen and enclosure. That was big time for us. The numbers seem close to that of more expensive units. The only downside, and it's been expressed other places is that it loses shots on chips sometimes. Other than that, it hasn't missed a drive, or a 7 iron yet. We love it! If you can find one, get it!

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I love the Garmin R10! With a full time job and a toddler at the house, I do not have the time to frequently visit the range or play a round of golf. The R10 has allowed me to make the most of evenings and nap time. With the included E6 courses, I’m able to play a round without being away from the house for half the day. From what I can tell, the flight path and distances are very accurate as well. Adding Home Tee Hero and Awesome Golf to the package has also given me plenty of variety to keep the sessions entertaining. I would definitely recommend the R10.

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I got interesed in the Garmin Approach R10 after reading many reviews back in February of 2022. Unfortunately everywhere I looked to purchase the R10 they were out of stock. I signed up with several companies to get on a waiting list to purchase. Top Shelf Golf was the only one to alert me to a shipping date. I ordered the R10 and it was delivered as they had promised--in fact it was earlier than expected. There support team has been great responding to all my questions. I will certainly reccomend Top Shelf to my friends for their golfing needs.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I love the Garmin R-10 and would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a reasonable priced launch monitor. Also, Top Shelf Golf was great to work with. They had the unit in stock, it shipped on time and the company kept me up to date on my order. I will purchase from them again.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

The Garmin R10 has got to be the best product on the Golf market. For the value and the capabilities you just can't be it. For anyone that wants to build a garage simulator or just wants instant accurate swing feedback this is for you.

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I received my Garmin Approach R10 from Top Shelf Golf much quicker than other stores predicted it would ship. The R10 is a great affordable launch monitor. It provides significant data and feedback, especially for a beginner golfer like me. I have recommended TSG to a few friends already and will continue to do so in the future.

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

First impression was this is great. Played 27 holes no problems. Next day would not work. Went through every possible scenario could not get it to work. Would only pick up ball strike if you went in ultra slow motion. After day of ###%!!!! and other taste words found you needed to download Garmin express. In instructions ( some whereI read) updates were supposed to happen when device was connected to phone or iPad. Well it does not, so update through Garmin express. Do not have device connected to any device other than the one you are using. Presto works great for 18 holes. Chipping is an issue though, my screen is about 20 feet away if I hit a chip that hits the screen at that distance it registers less that the distance of the screen. So other than that its great and a lot of fun. I would recommend to everyone, but update to 3.9 ASAP

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

We are all set up and ready to go! We absolutely love it so far! Living in Oregon you don't get many no rain golf days so this is a great way to get out on the course without getting wet! Plus, it makes our friends jealous so that makes my husband happy!

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

My son and I love the Garmin R10! It takes a little to get it set up properly but we now have it dialed in. Only thing I would like to see improved is a “landscape” mode for Home Tee Heroes.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I sold my Rhapsodo and bought this because of all of the hype it was getting and the ability to play virtual golf courses. It is pretty good, but I am finding that the distances and the direction is very inaccurate sometimes. The Rhapsodo was much more accurate. On the range, I will use my laser range finder to measure a flag and hit at that flag to test the accuracy. In this example, I measured an 89 yard pin. I hit until I had hit 3 shots that landed near the pin. 1 of them read just over 90 on the Garmin, another read 120 and the last read 70. Also, I don't think it picks it up when I hit a draw or a fade. The ball simply moves in the direction that it was traveling at the beginning of the shot. I'm pretty disappointed in this. I was hoping that it would make my time at the range more fun and helpful, but I find myself more frustrated than anything. Also when the data is so inconsistent, it is pretty hard to trust it so it doesn't do much to improve my game. I am actually thinking about returning it if possible.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I practice every day by hitting golf balls into a net under my deck in my back yard. I previously owned a swing caddie launch monitor which gave me swing distance and smash factor but I had no idea what kind of shots i was hitting (straight, draws or slices). I needed more information on my swing. Based on all the positive reviews of the new Garmin Approach R10, I made the purchase. I wanted a lower cost launch monitor that would give me more data than I previously had and would help me understand my golf swing to make improvements. I was thrilled to see how easy it was to setup and I was up and hitting balls in about 5 min. The R10 recorded all my shots and provided a visual trajectory of my shots on my iPhone, plus gave me club head speed, ball speed, spin, launch angle, launch direction, etc. This was just what I was looking for and at a great price. I am very happy with this item.
