Complete Net Simulator Package

Garmin Approach R10 Net Golf Simulator

Cold snap in the garage, sunny Saturday in the backyard: the net goes where you want to hit, and the ball comes back to your feet. Pick the net size and the mat here, and check out without waiting on a quote.

The Garmin Approach R10 Net Golf Simulator is a complete golf simulator without the projector or the enclosure: the Garmin Approach R10 launch monitor, The Net Return auto ball return net and a hitting mat give you ball data and simulated golf on a phone, tablet or TV. The net sets up in 5 minutes in a garage or basement, and eight net sizes fit ceilings from 5'6" to 10'6". The builder prices the package as you go.

Launch Monitor

Garmin Approach R10

The Garmin Approach R10 is a compact, portable radar launch monitor that sends ball and club data to the Garmin Golf app. It is small enough to carry to the range or set up indoors. The Net Return Quick Color Connect frame
Indoors or Out

One simulator for the garage and the backyard

An enclosure stays in one room; this package goes where you want to hit. The frame is 1.5" powder-coated aluminum and the netting is UV-treated polyester, so the same net works in a basement, a garage bay or on the lawn. Tool-free Quick Color Connect poles snap together in under 5 minutes, and the whole net packs into its duffle bag when you want the space back. Leaving it outside for the season? The Net Return's outdoor cover lets the net stay out year-round, and its FAQ suggests sandbags on the frame for stability in wind.

  • Color-coded poles with push buttons, no tools
  • Rated for ball speeds up to 225 MPH, so drivers are fine
  • Doubles as a soccer, baseball, softball and lacrosse net for the kids
Net Return golf net with a launch monitor and TV in a living room
No Projector Needed

Play courses on the screen you already have

Your launch monitor sends ball speed, launch, spin and carry to its app, and many apps draw the shot and play simulated courses. Put that on a phone, a tablet or the living room TV and you have a simulator with nothing to mount on the ceiling.

Want a projected picture later? The Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator adds The Net Return Floating Screen Simulator Bay floating impact screen, and its base build includes an Optoma ZW350ST short-throw laser projector with a ceiling mount.

Net Sizes

Eight sizes, starting with your ceiling

Pick by ceiling height first, then width. The package starts with the Home, which clears an 8 ft ceiling and fits most garages and basements. Go wider if you have the room: a wider net keeps more mishits in play. The Junior is sized for younger players and ultra-compact spots, the Mini takes full swings in tight garages and spare rooms, and the Pro XL, at 10 ft wide and 9.5 ft high, gives a bay-style enclosure feel.

Net Width x Height Minimum Ceiling Best For
Junior 4.5' x 4.5' 5'6"-6' Kids, tight spaces
Mini 5' x 6' 7'-7'6" Small rooms, full swings
Home 7' x 7' 8' Garages, low ceilings
Pro 8' x 7.5' 8'6" Most home rooms
Pro 8 8' x 8' 9'-9'6" Taller rooms
Pro 9 9' x 8' 9'-10' Wider bays
Pro 10 10' x 8' 9' Widest home use
Pro XL 10' x 9.5' 10'-10'6" Bay-style setups

*Note: Minimum ceiling is The Net Return's suggested minimum room height for that net (manufacturer setup guide), not just frame clearance. Swing a driver where the net will stand before you order, and leave room behind the ball for your backswing and your launch monitor.

The Net Return Universal Side Barriers
Safety

Optional: side barriers and No Fly Zone

The Net Return highly recommends side barriers for indoor use, family practice or anywhere a stray ball is a safety concern, and they are the first add-on for a garage with cars, windows or family nearby. They come as a right and left pair, extend straight out or angle wider, and anchor with sandbags. When you are done, walk them into the front of the frame to get the floor back.

  • Side Barriers: the pair for the net size you pick
  • No Fly Zone V2: 1.5 ft of extra netting above the net and 3.5 ft of overhang, for the Home, Pro, Pro 8, Pro 9 and Pro 10
  • Side barriers set up in under five minutes; the No Fly Zone clamps on in under five minutes with no tools
The Net Return Pro Turf hitting mat with net
Hitting Mat

Pro Turf included, so the ball rolls back to you

The Net Return Pro Turf in the base price is 6'W x 10'L, long enough to run from the net to your feet, so every ball rolls back to the hitting spot. The turf rolls up for storage, works indoors and outdoors, and doubles as a 10 ft putting surface.

Want a different feel under the club? Swap it in the builder:

  • Real Feel Country Club Elite, 5'W x 5'L: swing down and through, takes a real wooden tee
  • Fiberbuilt 7'x4' Grass Series Single-Hitting Studio Mat: 300,000-shot guarantee in a small footprint
  • Fiberbuilt 9'x4' Grass Series Center-Hitting Studio Mat: fits right- and left-handed players, 300,000-shot guarantee
SurfThing Gaming Computer
Computer

Optional: gaming computer and touch screen

Plenty of launch monitors run from a phone or tablet app, and those need nothing else. Windows simulation software such as GSPro needs a gaming-class PC, and SurfThing builds them for golf simulation as a desktop tower or a laptop. Add the SurfThing touch screen to start rounds and check numbers from the hitting area.

  • SurfThing Enhanced Level PC: Core Ultra 5 with RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD
  • SurfThing Enhanced Level Laptop: Core Ultra 9 with RTX 5070, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD
  • SurfThing DT2424H 23.8" Touch Screen Monitor, 1080p, 75Hz

FAQ

Garmin Approach R10 Net Golf Simulator Questions

What comes in the Garmin Approach R10 Net Golf Simulator?
The base package is the Garmin Approach R10 launch monitor, The Net Return Home Golf Net (7'W x 7'H) with its duffle bag, and The Net Return Pro Turf hitting mat (6'W x 10'L). In the builder you change the net size or mat, and add side barriers, a No Fly Zone extension, a gaming computer or a touch screen monitor.
Can I use the R10 both at home and at the driving range?
Yes, the R10 is portable and can be used indoors or easily taken to the range for consistent shot tracking.
Can Garmin R10 record swing video and track shot history?
Yes. It saves your shot data, and Swing Capture records swing video with the metrics for each shot in the free Driving Range mode.
Do I need a projector or impact screen?
No. Your launch monitor's app shows the numbers, the shot and simulated courses on a phone, tablet or TV. If you want a projected picture later, the Garmin Approach R10 Floating Screen Golf Simulator adds The Net Return Floating Screen Simulator Bay floating impact screen, and its base build includes an Optoma ZW350ST short-throw laser projector with a ceiling mount.
Can I use The Net Return outdoors?
Yes. The frame is powder-coated aluminum and the netting is UV-treated polyester, built for indoor or outdoor use. The Net Return recommends a cover if the net stays outside permanently and sandbags on the frame in wind. It packs into its duffle bag, so it can come inside for the winter.
Which net size should I choose?
Start with your ceiling. The Home clears 8 ft, the Pro 8'6", the Pro 8 9' to 9'6", the Pro 9 9' to 10', the Pro 10 9', and the Pro XL 10' to 10'6". Then take the widest net that fits your space, because a wider net keeps more mishits in play. The Junior (5'6"-6' ceiling) suits younger players, and the Mini (7'-7'6") takes full swings in small rooms.
Do I need side barriers?
Indoors, we recommend them. The Net Return calls side barriers highly recommended for indoor use, family practice or anywhere errant balls are a safety concern.
What does the No Fly Zone extension do?
It adds 1.5 ft of netting above the net and 3.5 ft of overhang, so a high wedge or a thinned shot cannot clear the top and hit the ceiling or a light. It fits the Home, Pro, Pro 8, Pro 9 and Pro 10 and clamps on in under 5 minutes with no tools.
How does the auto ball return work?
The Net Return's patented S-Shape netting absorbs the ball and drops it forward so it rolls back toward you, with no springs or moving parts. The 10 ft Pro Turf in the base package runs from the net to your feet and gives a continuous return.
How fast does the Garmin Approach R10 Net Golf Simulator ship?
Most items usually ship within 1-3 business days. Manufacturer delays can happen; we email tracking the moment it ships. Shipping is free within the contiguous 48 states on most products over $150 (some exceptions apply). We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Does Top Shelf Golf offer financing for the Garmin Approach R10 Net Golf Simulator?
Top Shelf Golf offers financing through Affirm with flexible monthly payment options. Select Affirm at checkout to check your rate; it takes seconds and won't affect your credit score. 0% APR options may be available depending on eligibility.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.7 / 5 from 35 reviews.

I had a very good experience working with Ivan to select the items I needed, he was great. I had a little trouble putting it together but he helped me with videos that got me through it. I still have not had a lot of time to use the entire unit but I seem to be getting along. The yardage for the holes at my home course are not correct but I have played most of the holes. Putting is something that I have to practice. I am going to keep working with it and will call with questions. Thanks. Richard Coats

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I've been using the Garmin Approach R10 for a few weeks now, and I’m seriously impressed. As a beginner golfer, this little launch monitor has completely transformed the way I practice. It’s compact, easy to set up, and surprisingly accurate for its size and price point. The detailed shot metrics—like carry distance, club head speed, launch angle, and more—help me understand my swing and make real improvements. Pairing it with the Garmin Golf app on my iPhone was seamless, and the simulated range feature adds a fun, interactive element to my sessions. Whether I'm practicing in the backyard or indoors into a net, the R10 gives me real-time feedback that keeps me motivated and focused. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to get better without spending thousands on high-end launch monitors!

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I have only had a short session on the driving range, but so far it seems pretty accurate to what my normal yardage is. The setup was incredibly quick and easy and adding my clubs to my bag was not hard. So far my only complaint is that the clubs come pre-loaded and they do not have a 7 wood as an option. You can select a hybrid with a similar attach angle and fudge it, but not quite the same. Cant wait to try the simulation mode!

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Top Self Golf got the R10 to me before any other shop has it available. Love getting on the course at 1:am in my pajamas.... and working on my swing before a round!!! The free version of E6 Connect is great.

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Garmin R10 has been incredible to use. Having the E6 courses available was the biggest bonus. Day One you can actually play sim Golf, whether it's into a net or with a screen and enclosure. That was big time for us. The numbers seem close to that of more expensive units. The only downside, and it's been expressed other places is that it loses shots on chips sometimes. Other than that, it hasn't missed a drive, or a 7 iron yet. We love it! If you can find one, get it!

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I love the Garmin R10! With a full time job and a toddler at the house, I do not have the time to frequently visit the range or play a round of golf. The R10 has allowed me to make the most of evenings and nap time. With the included E6 courses, I’m able to play a round without being away from the house for half the day. From what I can tell, the flight path and distances are very accurate as well. Adding Home Tee Hero and Awesome Golf to the package has also given me plenty of variety to keep the sessions entertaining. I would definitely recommend the R10.

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I got interesed in the Garmin Approach R10 after reading many reviews back in February of 2022. Unfortunately everywhere I looked to purchase the R10 they were out of stock. I signed up with several companies to get on a waiting list to purchase. Top Shelf Golf was the only one to alert me to a shipping date. I ordered the R10 and it was delivered as they had promised--in fact it was earlier than expected. There support team has been great responding to all my questions. I will certainly reccomend Top Shelf to my friends for their golfing needs.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I love the Garmin R-10 and would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a reasonable priced launch monitor. Also, Top Shelf Golf was great to work with. They had the unit in stock, it shipped on time and the company kept me up to date on my order. I will purchase from them again.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

The Garmin R10 has got to be the best product on the Golf market. For the value and the capabilities you just can't be it. For anyone that wants to build a garage simulator or just wants instant accurate swing feedback this is for you.

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I received my Garmin Approach R10 from Top Shelf Golf much quicker than other stores predicted it would ship. The R10 is a great affordable launch monitor. It provides significant data and feedback, especially for a beginner golfer like me. I have recommended TSG to a few friends already and will continue to do so in the future.

Customer video review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

First impression was this is great. Played 27 holes no problems. Next day would not work. Went through every possible scenario could not get it to work. Would only pick up ball strike if you went in ultra slow motion. After day of ###%!!!! and other taste words found you needed to download Garmin express. In instructions ( some whereI read) updates were supposed to happen when device was connected to phone or iPad. Well it does not, so update through Garmin express. Do not have device connected to any device other than the one you are using. Presto works great for 18 holes. Chipping is an issue though, my screen is about 20 feet away if I hit a chip that hits the screen at that distance it registers less that the distance of the screen. So other than that its great and a lot of fun. I would recommend to everyone, but update to 3.9 ASAP

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

We are all set up and ready to go! We absolutely love it so far! Living in Oregon you don't get many no rain golf days so this is a great way to get out on the course without getting wet! Plus, it makes our friends jealous so that makes my husband happy!

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

My son and I love the Garmin R10! It takes a little to get it set up properly but we now have it dialed in. Only thing I would like to see improved is a “landscape” mode for Home Tee Heroes.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I sold my Rhapsodo and bought this because of all of the hype it was getting and the ability to play virtual golf courses. It is pretty good, but I am finding that the distances and the direction is very inaccurate sometimes. The Rhapsodo was much more accurate. On the range, I will use my laser range finder to measure a flag and hit at that flag to test the accuracy. In this example, I measured an 89 yard pin. I hit until I had hit 3 shots that landed near the pin. 1 of them read just over 90 on the Garmin, another read 120 and the last read 70. Also, I don't think it picks it up when I hit a draw or a fade. The ball simply moves in the direction that it was traveling at the beginning of the shot. I'm pretty disappointed in this. I was hoping that it would make my time at the range more fun and helpful, but I find myself more frustrated than anything. Also when the data is so inconsistent, it is pretty hard to trust it so it doesn't do much to improve my game. I am actually thinking about returning it if possible.

Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

Customer photo review of Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator

I practice every day by hitting golf balls into a net under my deck in my back yard. I previously owned a swing caddie launch monitor which gave me swing distance and smash factor but I had no idea what kind of shots i was hitting (straight, draws or slices). I needed more information on my swing. Based on all the positive reviews of the new Garmin Approach R10, I made the purchase. I wanted a lower cost launch monitor that would give me more data than I previously had and would help me understand my golf swing to make improvements. I was thrilled to see how easy it was to setup and I was up and hitting balls in about 5 min. The R10 recorded all my shots and provided a visual trajectory of my shots on my iPhone, plus gave me club head speed, ball speed, spin, launch angle, launch direction, etc. This was just what I was looking for and at a great price. I am very happy with this item.
