Snow on the driveway, a Tuesday night, and you are still hitting driver. Choose the screen size, mat, projector and launch monitor here, watch the build take shape in 3D at real size, and check out without waiting on a quote.
The DIY Enclosure Golf Simulator is a complete home golf simulator package you configure on this page: a Carl's Place DIY enclosure with a premium impact screen in six sizes, a Real Feel hitting mat, a short-throw laser projector with its ceiling mount, and the launch monitor of your choice from 22 radar, camera and overhead units. Every pick updates the price and the 3D view, and the whole build goes to your cart as one package. It is for the golfer who wants one order for the whole room instead of sourcing a screen, frame, mat and projector separately.
Use the builder above to change the enclosure size, hitting mat or projector, or add a launch monitor, landing pad, gaming computer or touch screen monitor.
Twenty-two launch monitors are available on this page, from the Swing Caddie SC4 PRO and Garmin Approach R10 to the Foresight Sports GCQuad and QuadMAX. Already own one? Keep the default, BYO Launch Monitor, and use yours.
Not sure which one? The launch monitor comparison lines them up by accuracy, placement, software and price, and the golf simulator builder sizes a full setup to your room.

The Carl's Place DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure builds a clean, fully contained hitting bay. Every size in this package ships with the triple-layer Premium impact screen, a pre-cut 1-inch EMT pipe framing kit, foam inserts, a pair of 8 ft net wall extensions and an overhead safety baffle. BlackStop light-absorbing fabric keeps the picture bright with less bounce-back.
Room minimum, to the inch. Width is Carl's overall frame plus a 3 in buffer on each side; height is the frame plus 3 in above; depth is 12 in behind the frame, the 67.375 in frame, 5 ft 1 in from the frame to the tee (10 ft from the screen, the closest Carl's says to hit from) and 5 ft behind the tee to swing, which is 16 ft 9 in for every size; Carl's Place recommends 7 ft behind the tee for a full driver swing, which makes it 18 ft 9 in. A launch monitor that sits behind the ball needs Carl's 7 ft or its maker's setback behind the tee, whichever is longer, which makes it 18 ft 9 in for the Garmin R10, Swing Caddie SC4 PRO and Rapsodo MLM2PRO, 19 ft 9 in for the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 and Full Swing KIT, and 20 ft 9 in for the FlightScope X3C. Figures are rounded up to the next inch.
Power. Everything in the package plugs into ordinary 120 V household outlets; no dedicated circuit or hardwiring is needed. The projectors run on a 100 to 240 V supply and draw 139 W (Optoma ZW350ST) to 440 W (BenQ LK936ST), a gaming PC is a standard desktop tower or laptop, and the launch monitor runs on a small power adapter or its own battery, so one 15 A circuit carries the whole bay. Plan an outlet at the ceiling for the projector and one near the tee for the launch monitor and computer.

The package ships with the Real Feel Country Club Elite Golf Mat, 5'W x 5'L. Its long, dense fibers let you swing down and through the turf the way you would off a fairway, it takes a real wooden tee, and the base absorbs the strike so your joints do not.
Three Fiberbuilt mats are one click away in the builder, or remove the mat if you already have one:
The Tour Landing Pad cushions and quiets balls dropping off the screen, keeps them from scuffing the floor, and bridges the gap between the mat and the enclosure. The builder offers the width that matches your bay, always 8 ft long:

The Optoma ZW350ST is the included projector: 3,600 lumens, a 30,000-hour DuraCore laser with no bulb to replace, and a 0.521:1 short throw, so it mounts close to the screen and out of the swing. Seven BenQ short-throw projectors are available in the builder, from the 1080p TH671ST to the 5,100-lumen 4K LK936ST, and the ceiling mount switches to the right model for whichever projector you choose. Remove the projector and the mount goes with it. The projector calculator shows the mount distance for your screen size.

Simulation software such as GSPro, E6 Connect and FSX Play needs a gaming-class computer, and the one you pick here arrives ready for it. SurfThing builds them for golf simulation: 32GB DDR5, a 2TB SSD and an NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPU, in a desktop tower or a laptop. With the desktop PC, add the SurfThing DT2424H 23.8-inch touch screen to start rounds, review data and scrub swing video without walking back to a keyboard. It is not offered with the laptop, which has its own screen.
Before you order, see the screen, the mat, the projector on its mount and the launch monitor drawn at real size, each where it goes.
The second gallery thumbnail opens an interactive 3D view of your build at real size, with the launch monitor where it belongs: behind the ball, beside it or overhead. Drag to rotate, pinch or scroll to zoom, open it full screen. Share build saves the configuration to a short topshelfgolf.com link with a picture, for a spouse, a contractor or us, and the link rides along on your cart line and order.

We're proud to say we are an Authorized Dealer/Distributor for all the brands we carry. All our products come directly from the manufacturer. Your launch monitor, projector and computer are covered by their manufacturer's warranty from the date of the original purchase, subject to its conditions and limitations. Carl's Place screens and enclosure materials are wearable goods, so they do not carry a warranty. Some marking and wear from the first sessions is normal, and how long a screen lasts depends on skill level, how often you play and how it is installed. If something looks unusual rather than like normal wear, send us photos and your order number and we will take it up with Carl's Place.
All impact screen sales are final with no returns. Because fit and material choice matter, measure your space before ordering.
All Optoma sales are final. No returns will be accepted.
All Foresight Sports products have a 30-day return window with prior return authorization (RMA) and a 15% restocking fee, plus the cost to repair or replace any damaged, worn or missing components. Items must be returned in the original packaging, and the customer pays return shipping. Opened software and downloaded software licenses are not returnable.
We want you to be happy with your purchase and enjoy it for many years to come. If you decide you want to return your product, we will gladly assist you in the process. Please inspect your purchase when your package arrives. Product received damaged must be noted with the freight carrier at time of delivery. Contact us immediately no later than 24 hours from delivery time to report the damage. We cannot accept responsibility for a damaged shipment if it is not noted as such on the freight carrier's delivery receipt. Damage must be noted at the time of delivery.
