The SkyTrak ST MAX pairs a photometric camera system with dual Doppler radar in a single portable unit that captures 14 ball and club metrics with what SkyTrak calls tour-level accuracy. The ST MAX is $1,695.
No stickers, no special balls. Set it beside the ball, connect to your phone, tablet, or PC, and start hitting. Speed Training Powered by GOLFTEC is built in -- exclusive to the ST MAX. Works indoors and outdoors with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery and dual USB-C ports for simultaneous charging and data transfer.
The SkyTrak ST MAX ($1,695) is a portable launch monitor that pairs a photometric camera system with dual Doppler radar to capture 14 ball and club metrics (9 ball, 5 club) with no stickers or special balls required. It weighs 1.7 lbs, runs on a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, and works indoors and outdoors. Exclusive Speed Training by GOLFTEC is built in. It runs on SkyTrak's own software; course play (the 49-course Foresight Pack and the 51-course Trackman Pack) comes with Core and Elite Memberships.
A photometric camera system tracks the ball at impact, and dual Doppler radar captures ball and club data. The result: club and ball data from a single compact unit -- no stickers, no special balls, no extra sensors.
Exclusive to the ST MAX. Guided drills and measurable insights from GOLFTEC help you build swing speed and unlock more distance. This is a structured speed-gain program, not just a number on a screen.
9 ball data metrics and 5 club data metrics. Every swing gives you ball speed, spin, launch angle, carry distance, club speed, face angle, club path, and more.
Play world-class courses including Pebble Beach, St Andrews, Bethpage Black, and more through SkyTrak's Core and Elite Memberships. Foresight Pack (49 courses) and Trackman Pack (51 courses) available separately or bundled in Elite.
Charge and connect simultaneously. In a permanent indoor setup, this means no cable swapping -- keep the unit powered while transferring data. A small upgrade that makes a big difference for daily use.
Works indoors and outdoors on a hitting mat. Outdoors, SkyTrak says to keep direct sunlight off the lens. 1.7 lbs with a rechargeable battery -- take it to the range, the backyard, or your sim room.
Measured by dual Doppler radar on every swing. No stickers or marked clubs required.
Captured by the photometric camera system and dual Doppler radar. No special balls required -- SkyTrak calls for a clean, white golf ball.
Every ST MAX includes a 14-day trial membership with access to Sweetens Cove plus all game improvement features, including GOLFTEC Practice Ranges. Start it when you register the unit.
Choose the tier that fits your game after your trial ends:
Membership required for course play features. Practice and challenge libraries require Essential tier or above. Speed Training powered by GOLFTEC is exclusive to the ST MAX hardware.

Charge the ST MAX before first use: SkyTrak says to charge it for a minimum of 6 hours. Use one of the two USB-C ports with an included USB-C cable and the wall charger.
Download the SkyTrak app on your iOS, Android, or Windows device. Create your SkyTrak account, register the ST MAX under My Device, and start your 14-day trial membership (Sweetens Cove plus all game improvement features).
Place the ST MAX beside the ball, level with the hitting surface and parallel to your target line. Once connected, it projects a red laser dot: set the ball (or the base of the tee) on the dot. SkyTrak recommends alignment sticks to check your target line.
Connect the ST MAX over Wi-Fi in Network Mode through your home router (SkyTrak's recommended mode) or in Direct Mode. On a Windows PC you can also connect with a USB-C cable in the right port while the other port handles power.
Use SkyTrak's native app for practice tools and course play. Upgrade to Core or Elite Membership to unlock additional course libraries with Pebble Beach, St Andrews, and more.
Swing and watch your data appear in real time. Use Skills Assessments and Bag Mapping to build your practice routine.

SkyTrak calls the ST MAX its most advanced design yet. SkyTrak lists these ST MAX features: Speed Training Powered by GOLFTEC (exclusive to the ST MAX), dual USB ports for simultaneous charging and data transfer, a new modular internal design that reduces internal components, enhances system stability, and maintains precise calibration, and a new charcoal grey finish.
No. The ST MAX captures ball and club data with its photometric camera system and dual Doppler radar, with no ball or club stickers. SkyTrak's user guide calls for a clean, white golf ball; for the best spin readings, turn a marking such as the brand logo toward the lens.
Yes. The ST MAX works both indoors and outdoors. For outdoor use, SkyTrak recommends hitting off a mat and avoiding direct sunlight on the camera lens.
The ST MAX works with SkyTrak's native membership software. Essential covers the driving range and the practice, game evaluation, and challenge libraries. Course play comes with Core Foresight (the 49-course Foresight Pack, including Pebble Beach), Core Trackman (the 51-course Trackman Pack, including Pebble Beach, St Andrews, and Bethpage Black), and Elite (both packs). The ST MAX also includes a 14-day trial membership with access to Sweetens Cove and all game improvement features.
Speed Training Powered by GOLFTEC is a swing-speed program exclusive to the ST MAX. SkyTrak says it provides guided drills and measurable insights to help you build swing speed and gain distance.
Essential ($99.99/yr) includes the SKYTRAK Driving Range, PinSeeker Access, the Practice Range, Game Evaluation and Challenge libraries, Sim Club Membership, and $25 off a GOLFTEC Game Evaluation. Core Foresight ($299.99/yr) adds 49 courses including Pebble Beach. Core Trackman ($349.99/yr) adds 51 courses including St Andrews and Bethpage Black. Elite ($599.99/yr) includes both course packs (49 + 51 courses), the full Pebble Beach Resort Pack, 2 new courses monthly, 10% off the SkyTrak Shop and GOLFTEC services, and a free GOLFTEC Game Evaluation.
SkyTrak recommends a minimum unobstructed space of 10 feet wide by 10 feet deep, with enough ceiling height to safely swing your longest club. The ST MAX sits beside the ball, so it does not require any ceiling-mounted hardware.
The SkyTrak ST MAX box includes the ST MAX launch monitor, two USB-C cables and a wall charger. Registering the unit starts a 14-day trial membership. The SkyTrak MAX/ST+ Protective Case is sold separately.
Yes. We offer financing through Affirm. You can split your purchase into low monthly payments and prequalify with no impact to your credit score. Affirm options appear at checkout.
The ST MAX is backed by a 6-month manufacturer warranty or 25,000 shots (whichever comes first), covering defects in materials and workmanship. Physical damage or tampering voids the warranty. Under our return policy, you must tell Top Shelf Golf you intend to return the unit within 30 days; returns must be in new, sellable condition in the original packaging, the original shipping charge and a 3% payment processing fee are deducted from the refund, the customer pays return shipping, and a restocking fee may apply to damaged or incomplete returns.
SkyTrak says the ST MAX brings tour-level accuracy, using a photometric camera system together with dual Doppler radar. SkyTrak notes that photometric systems do not need the long ball flight that radar-based units do, which suits indoor simulators. For consistent readings, keep the unit level with the hitting surface, aligned parallel to your target line, and the lens clean.
