Carl's Place builds the Curved enclosure for DIY assembly. Its screen curves around the hitting area, so the picture fills your peripheral vision.
It uses the same triple-layer screen as Carl's flat enclosures, built to take full-speed drives, on a 2-inch steel EMT frame. Six sizes, each in three depths, made in the USA.

Every depth needs the same 16'0" run, because the enclosure sits inside it. A launch monitor behind the ball needs more: 17 ft for the Garmin R10, 17 ft 6 in for the Rapsodo MLM2PRO, and 19 ft for the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 and Full Swing KIT. It is 20 ft for the FlightScope X3C, which FlightScope places 9 to 14 ft behind the tee, and stays 16 ft for the Swing Caddie SC4 PRO, which sits 5 ft behind the ball.

Frame and Baffle
Pipe Framing Kit and Safety Baffle, included
Bought on its own, the Curved kit comes with fittings, and you buy the 2-inch EMT yourself. Here every pipe arrives in the exact length for your enclosure: no cutting. Carl's does not cut the curved pipes down, so the kit ships separately, and it ships free within the contiguous 48 states.
The Safety Baffle hangs above the hitting area and stops a ball that skips off the top of the screen before it reaches the ceiling. Both follow the enclosure size you pick in the builder.

The package ships with the Real Feel Country Club Elite Golf Mat, 5'W x 5'L. Its long, dense fibers let you swing down and through the turf like a fairway, it takes a real wooden tee, and the base absorbs the strike so your joints do not.

Landing Pad

The Tour Landing Pad cushions and quiets balls dropping off the screen, keeps them from scuffing the floor or rolling under the enclosure, and bridges the gap between the mat and the screen. It is not selected by default.

Projector
Projector and ceiling mount
The package includes the BenQ LK830ST, a 4K laser with 4,000 lumens and a 0.496:1 throw, the shortest in the builder. Its Warping menu maps the picture onto the curve. The ceiling mount is included.
Upgrades to the 4K BenQ AK700ST and LK936ST are available in the builder. Both warp to the curve as well, and the included ceiling mount fits all three.
Computer
Optional: SurfThing gaming computer and touch screen
Simulation software such as GSPro, E6 Connect and FSX Play needs a gaming-class computer, and the one you pick here arrives ready for it. SurfThing builds them for golf simulation: 32GB DDR5, a 2TB SSD and an NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPU, in a desktop tower or a laptop.
With the desktop PC, add the SurfThing DT2424H 23.8-inch touch screen to start rounds, review data and scrub swing video without walking back to a keyboard. It is not offered with the laptop, which has its own screen.

BYO Launch Monitor is the default: the package ships with the enclosure, pipe kit, baffle, mat, projector and mount and no launch monitor, so you can use the unit you already own and add a different one later.
Do I need a Drop-Mount Kit for an overhead launch monitor?
Overhead units are ceiling-specific: 9 to 10 ft for ProTee VX and TruGolf APOGEE, 9.5 to 10.5 ft for the Foresight Falcon, and 9 to 10 ft for Uneekor EYE XR, EYE XO and EYE XO2.
Above those heights, the builder offers Carl's Launch Monitor Ceiling Drop-Mount Kit, cut for each of those units in 6 in to 9 in, 12 in to 18 in, 2 ft to 3 ft and 3 ft to 5 ft drops, for a level or a sloped ceiling.
How much room does the Curved Screen Golf Simulator need?
Every size needs at least 16'0" of depth; width and height depend on the enclosure: 14'4"W x 9'6"H for the 14'W x 9'H kit, 15'1"W x 10'0"H for the 14.5'W x 9.5'H kit, 15'11"W x 9'6"H for the 15'W x 9'H kit, 15'11"W x 10'6"H for the 15'W x 10'H kit, 16'8"W x 10'0"H for the 16'W x 9.5'H kit, 17'7"W x 10'6"H for the 17'W x 10'H kit.
That is Carl's overall frame plus 3 in on each side and 6 in above. In depth it is Carl's 12 in of clearance behind the screen (which covers the 9.5 in rear fitting), 10 ft from the screen to the tee and 5 ft behind the tee to swing; a deeper enclosure sits inside that run rather than adding to it.
A launch monitor that sits behind the ball replaces those 5 ft with its maker's setback, which makes it 17 ft for the Garmin R10, 17 ft 6 in for the Rapsodo MLM2PRO, and 19 ft for the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 and Full Swing KIT. It is 20 ft for the FlightScope X3C, which FlightScope places 9 to 14 ft behind the tee, and stays 16 ft for the Swing Caddie SC4 PRO, which sits 5 ft behind the ball.
Overhead launch monitors need a 9 to 10.5 ft ceiling depending on the unit.

What power does the Curved Screen Golf Simulator need?
Everything in the package plugs into ordinary 120 V household outlets; no dedicated circuit or hardwiring is needed.
The projectors run on a 100 to 240 V supply and draw 212 W (BenQ AK700ST) to 440 W (BenQ LK936ST), a gaming PC is a standard desktop tower or laptop, and the launch monitor runs on a small power adapter or its own battery, so one 15 A circuit carries the whole bay.
Plan an outlet at the ceiling for the projector and one near the tee for the launch monitor and computer.
Which enclosure size and depth should I choose?
Pick the widest kit whose room minimum fits: 14'W, 14.5'W, 15'W (9 or 10 ft tall), 16'W or 17'W, each 8, 10 or 15 ft deep. Depths are true to size: 105.5, 129.5 and 189.5 in overall.
A deeper enclosure puts more of the room inside the BlackStop panels, which catch what the screen does not and block more light from the image. All depths need the same room depth, so pick the deepest one your budget clears.
What size landing pad should I add?
Tick the landing pad and the builder preselects the size we recommend: one foot wider than the enclosure, 15'W for the 14'W kit up to 18'W for the 17'W kit, with the length matched to the depth: 13 ft on an 8 ft or 10 ft deep bay and 16 ft on 15 ft.
The pad starts at the deepest point of the curve, and the tee distance is measured from the leading edge of the screen about 4 ft ahead of it, so the run is longer than on a flat screen of the same depth.
Runs over 8 ft are two pads laid end to end. The Width and Length menus let you go wider or longer, and the width is cut to your exact number after ordering.
Which impact screen comes with the Curved package?
The triple-layer Premium screen. It takes real golf balls at full driver speed and it works with every projector offered here.
The High-Contrast Gray screen deepens blacks in a room with ambient light by absorbing that light, so we recommend at least 4,000 lumens with it. It is sold with the standalone Curved enclosure kit, where you pick the projector yourself. In a room you can darken, the white Premium screen gives the better image.
Does the frame come with the Curved Screen Golf Simulator?
Yes. The standalone Curved kit ships without pipes, but this package includes the Pipe Framing Kit: every 2-inch steel EMT pipe in the exact lengths for your enclosure, plus the fittings. Carl's does not cut the curved pipes down, so the pipe kit ships separately, and it ships free within the contiguous 48 states. Uncheck it only if you are sourcing your own EMT locally.
The Safety Baffle for your enclosure width is included as well, and both follow the size you pick in the builder.
The Back Cover Kit is optional: it closes the back of the enclosure to block light and contain balls. Its pipes are the optional Back Cover Pipe Kit, pre-cut for your enclosure size.
Which projector should I use on a curved screen?
One that throws short and warps in firmware. The included BenQ LK830ST has the shortest throw in the builder at 0.496:1, runs 4,000 lumens at 4K, and its Warping menu maps the picture onto a curved surface across a 5x3 grid; turning Warping on switches off Keystone, Corner Fit, Aspect Ratio, Digital Shrink and Shift, Blanking and Screen Fill.
The builder also offers the BenQ AK700ST 4000-Lumen 4K Laser (0.69-0.83:1 throw) and LK936ST 5100-Lumen 4K Laser (0.81-0.89:1 throw). Both warp on grids up to 24x15 for a larger or brighter picture, but throw longer, so run your bay through our projector calculator and check the projector lands in front of where you will stand.
How is the projector mounted, and how far from the screen?
The included BenQ ceiling mount tilts and rotates for image alignment and fits all three projectors in the builder. Remove the projector and the mount goes with it.
Carl's Universal Projector Mount is in the builder too: flush to a level ceiling, bolted to the enclosure frame, or on a 6 in to 9 in, 12 in to 18 in, 2 ft to 3 ft or 3 ft to 5 ft drop for a level or a sloped ceiling.
The mount distance under each projector in the builder is measured from the viewable screen of the enclosure size you pick, not the frame, using the width across the face of the curve that Carl's publishes for each size, with the 16:9 picture sized to fill that screen. The screen is wider along the curve than across its face.
With the included LK830ST on the base 14'W x 9'H enclosure, that puts the lens about 7.3' from its 13.3' x 8.2' viewable screen. The projector calculator shows the mount distance for any screen size.
Why does the picture run past the edge of the screen?
When the projector's shape matches the screen, the picture fills it exactly; when it differs, the picture matches the screen on one side and runs past it on the other, and the extra lands past the white screen on the enclosure walls.
That is normal. Set the simulator PC (display or graphics settings) or the projector, if it has a screen-fit setting, to your screen's shape and those strips stay dark.
Does the Curved Screen Golf Simulator include simulation software or a computer?
The Curved Screen Golf Simulator does not include simulation software or a computer. Simulation software is licensed separately and depends on the launch monitor you choose, and a gaming computer is optional in the builder. The SurfThing PC and laptop offered here are built for GSPro, E6 Connect and FSX Play.
Can I see my build before I buy it?
The 3D view shows your exact build at real size, with the enclosure, mat, landing pad, projector, mount and launch monitor placed where they belong, and it updates as you change any option.

How hard is the Carl's Place Curved enclosure to assemble?
At least two people and about four hours. Carl's lists a tape measure, pliers, hex keys or a socket set, a cutting tool, a rubber mallet and a step ladder.
The pipes arrive in the exact lengths, the steel fittings and elbows, foam inserts and zip ties are in the box, and the BlackStop panels go on with the supplied zip ties.
What makes the Curved package different from the Pro package?
The screen. The Curved kit's impact screen wraps around the hitting area, which fills more of your peripheral vision than a flat Pro screen can. It needs a very short throw projector so you can play from 10 ft without casting a shadow, and one projector covers the whole curve, so this package starts with the BenQ LK830ST where the Pro package starts with the Optoma ZW350ST.
How fast does the Curved Screen Golf Simulator ship?
Most items ship within 1-3 business days. The hitting mat, projector, projector mount and any launch monitor you add ship separately from the enclosure.
Carl's Place builds each enclosure to order, so lead times vary, and the Curved enclosure ships by ground rather than freight. Expect it to arrive separately from the rest of your order, often in more than one box. The Pipe Framing Kit ships free within the contiguous 48 states, separately from the enclosure. Your launch monitor, projector and computer are covered by their manufacturer's warranty from the date of the original purchase, subject to its conditions and limitations. Carl's Place screens and enclosure materials are wearable goods, so they do not carry a warranty. Some marking and wear from the first sessions is normal, and how long a screen lasts depends on skill level, how often you play and how it is installed. If something looks unusual rather than like normal wear, send us photos and your order number and we will take it up with Carl's Place.

Excellent enclosure works great. I found you do not need to use all the bungees to secure screen, I was experiencing bounce back so I removed a few bungees.

The hitting bay is great. Its big! Just barely fit in our bonus room. The fiberbuilt mats are also great. I am disappointed in the sky trac though. It regularly misses shots and have to restart it frequently.

Everything works well other than the skytrak unit itself. It is consistently unreliable. It goes into almost a sleep mode and won’t read at all. Small chip shots won’t read 15-20 times in a row regardless of ball location. Then you will drag your shoelace across the laser and it’ll read a 90 yard hit. The additional software needed to play courses is fairly pricey but definitely makes for a cooler experience. Personally, I would go with a different sim all together. The laser dot on the floor makes for a pain if you are playing a round. You have to move the machine from tee shots to fairway shots so the tee isn’t in the way (I ended up buying rubber cone tees to prevent from doing this).

The screen was easy to set up and with clear instructions that I received from Topshelfgolf before it arrived made it easier. I did make some adjustments for the 406 projector using the side shift because of the amount of room that I had to play with. Very happy with the results and with the help from the support team. The product is nicely designed. Firstly that makes the assembly easy and straight forward, secondly the final setup serves the purpose well. There is a gas pipe sticking out of the wall at exactly 8 feet from ground. I was hoping the golf frame had some play so that It would fit in easily. However the frame is EXACTLY 8 feet tall. I had to get a tube cutter to trim two tubes 1/4 inch shorter to slide that corner under that pipe. The screen is strong, thick and impact absorbing. It makes the hitting very quiet.

It is PERFECT. Just needs to be kept about a foot from the wall, behind the impact screen.

It works perfect in our space! It was very easy to put together and didn’t take too much time. Still doing little tweaks here and there as the stuff stretches out some to get it to fit the best but we are 100% happy with it!
Awesome product. Shipping was super quick, the Perfect Bay was easy to set up, and provides a top quality experience for our kids. The bay gives our mocked up simulator a more professional feel and the side walls protect from the shanks that occur with young golfers (and us adults as well). With long winters, this will provide us the opportunity to continue to work on our game and play golf year round. I highly recommend the product.
Got my Skytrak set up this week. I bought the “PerfectBay” package. With the 6x10 mat and Optoma ZH406ST projector. I also bought a gaming computer and safety net from Amazon. It took about 4 hours to set up the impact screen and mount the projector. I had to extend the down rod on the projector mount. I found 1 ¼” emt from Lowes was the perfect size to extend the down rod. It took me (a non-computer guy) about 2 hours to set up Skytrak My daughter and I have been out playing the Game Improvement everyday since we hooked it up. I am doing research now to see what golf course package I am going to add on. Well worth the money. Adam

Setup works really well in basement. No trouble hitting ball or projecting on screen. Still having some problems with distance matching how far I hit a ball
The folks at Top Shelf Golf were fantastic. They listened to what I was trying to do and assisted me with everything I needed to have a great set up. The SkyTrak package I purchased from then is great. I was pretty easy to set up (having someone help is a plus). In fact, when I sent this video to them Ivan noticed my picutre was not taking up the entire screen and suggested I adjust my aspect ratio; thank Ivan. I would highly recommend them for your simulator needs.
Been the best purchase I have made. I have played forty plus rounds in the winter and this will help in the summer. My son loves to play and is improving each day.
Set up the SkyTrak with the Return net enclosure in about 1 hour by myself. Super easy to set up and use. Ordered on a Friday evening and had everything at the house by the following Friday. Had a question about setting up the SkyTrak and Ivan quickly answered my question. Would recommend. I use in my garage with 9 ft ceilings and have plenty of room.
I got my screen and enclosure on time, was fairly easy to assemble if you follow the instructions that they send you. We have been hitting on it for a couple weeks and is great. As advertised

I absolutely love my new SkyTrak Perfect Bay simulator setup from Topshelf Golf! It’s setup in my basement which has 9 ft. ceilings. I’m only 5’8” so it works out perfectly. Everything included was top quality and arrived within a couple of weeks. The 8’ x 10.5’ is the perfect size screen for my setup. It took some time setting up the enclosure and hanging the Optoma projector but I couldn’t be happier having my own simulator to practice or play a round of golf whenever. I also purchased the TGC 2019 software so I can play all the top courses around the world. I can even play my home course, TPC River’s Bend during the cold winter months in Ohio. Awesome! My brother comes over a lot to play and he said “this is the best toy ever” and we are both in our 50’s. If you love golf and are thinking about installing a golf simulator, get it from Topshelf Golf. They have everything you’ll need!
I have had the Top Shelf Golf Simulator for about 2 weeks now. I have used it several times and I can say with quite a bit of confidence that this will definitely improve my golf game. Especially through this cold winter season in Chicago. Short little pick up sessions between 45 and 90 minutes I believe will do wonders. The projector is on order and it will only add to the enjoyment and effectiveness. Thank you Top Shelf.
It's very durable and reasonable spending. our family and my friend enjoy perfect swing bay (10x8x5) in the garage for indoor golf
I don't normally leave reviews, but when I do....their positive. I was surprised how easy it was to put together...took me about 15-20 minutes. I didn't see issues with any of the pieces. If I wanted to move it, I would be comfortable taking it apart and putting it back together to give an idea of how easy it is to assemble. I thought the screen would look and feel more like Tyvek, but it was surprisingly plush and surprisingly white. It's supposed to take up to 250 mph ball speeds...least to say I won' t be sniffing that anytime, unless Martin Borgmeier or Kyle Berkshire visit. I was also pleasantly surprised by the price. It was on the less expensive side compared to other screens, but I felt like I purchased a high quality hitting bay. My only advice is to use clean, white golf balls only. I hit a dirty one into the net and saw it leave a ball mark. I was able to clean it, but lesson learned. Also, buy some Top Flite bombs if you want to feel good about your distance :D Ok done. The PerfectBay Screen Enclosure is the perfect addition to your home golf studio. The 10.5’x8’ is perfect for my garage and I couldn’t be happier.
We love our swing boy! It was super easy to assemble, and works great. My 10 year old son put 90% of it together by himself, I helped with the lifting and that was about it. Can’t recommend this anymore!
